I'm new & I'm in love! (with Sunline)

Greetings from Kansas! (Sunflower is our state flower)
My search for a used RV introduced me to the Sunline and it was love at first sight. My problem is that they are all out east and rarely make it this far west. As a result, I've never stepped foot in one, just drool over the ad photos. Yet I KNOW this is what I want. (the T-2499 found a special place in my heart) I'd love any helpful tidbits that may help with our search. Anyone out there near the Kansas City area, or know of someone who is so we could see one? We will likely need to travel to buy, so I'd at least like to see the real thing first. I'd so appreciate any advice/direction you could offer. So glad to find this forum. I know I've landed in a 'sunny' spot.
Thanks,
Sunflower

Try looking on rvtraderonline, or craigslist and ebay. There are several for sale, but as you say they're all back east. Good luck in your search. Maybe you can find a different model near you to have a look at the Sunline quality. Several of our members have traveled to buy the model they want. Good luck in your search. You'll be happy when you find one. There just isn't anything out there that's as nice as a Sunline.

St Louis Craigslist

There is one listed on the St Louis Craigslist. It is in Wentzville MO which is on I 70 West of St Louis. It is a 2003 2499. We live in central MO and we fell in love with the T 1950 and drove to Detroit MI and bought ours without ever being in one. We love it and the quality is outstanding.

2499 alternative

Hi Sunflower; as you can see in by my sig, we have a 2499 with which we are very happy. So, no, it's not for sale. However, I did see this dead ringer online. That is to say the floor plan is virtually a 2499. Personally I find the interior too dark and the exterior somewhat overstated and unattractive, but it is the direction that many new RV's are going. I have not seen one so have no idea of the quality compared to Sunline. If it's the 2499 floor plan you're hooked on and you have no luck finding one, it might be worth checking out although it would be lots more money to buy new.

I used SearchTempest.com to consolidate my craigslist searches. The link below is an example search with the search radius starting in Kansas City, KS for keyword "Sunline" We just bought a T-1950 and like you, we knew exactly what we wanted. We got lots of pics ask a zillion questions before we made the 1000+ round trip to get her. So far I haven't found any major surprises and it's seemed to have worked out (we just got it home last night).

Sunflower,
We got us a T-2499 this spring, and we are very happy with it.
When I was looking, I used "Oodle" to search for Sunlines.
You can even set it up so that you get e-mail alerts when Oodle finds one advertised. You may get repeats, but that was O. K. by me.
Hope you find what you want soon!
Roar

Sunflower...

If your search for a 2499 takes you anywhere near south Georgia, you are welcome to visit us and take a look inside ours.

We really like the layout of our 2499. It's like a 5th wheel... without the stairs.

Sunflower,
Thought you might want to know, - Stotzfus in Adamstown, PA, has a 2007 T-2499 for sale. I believe there are several other SOC members who have dealt with them in the past with good experience.
Check the thread on the front structural issue, I think under "repairs and Maintenance", with 2006 and up T-2499 units, so you know what to look for.

Sunflower,
I don't know if you are still looking for a T-2499, but there is now a fiberglass sided 2004 for sale in Swartz Creek, just west of Flint in Michigan.
Phone: 810-655-8924.
In my previous post I mentioned the issue with the front structure on some of the newer 2499 units, but I think I had the model year wrong. I believe the issue cropped up on the 2005 model year units.
Hope you find what you are looking for.
Roar

Yes, I saw that. Nice looking coach with lots of goodies.

You are correct, the frame issues are 2005 through mid-model-year 2007.
