I have a Que and questions
I just yesterday purchased an Que 5.4. Unfortunately, it did not come with an owner manual. I have no idea how to lower the awning, among other things. Would it be possible tp pay you to copy your manual and mail me a copy? Sincerely, Monetta

Monetta, it would most likely be easier for you to do a Google search for each of your particular items/appliances. Sunline had a manual but it was very generic, I found myself checking on line for whatever appliance I had a question on and downloaded a manual for that specific item......I have added sooooo many items to my manual it isn't even funny!
Also, welcome to the Forum/Club.....once you start reading the posts, you will find that this is a very friendly group and will try to find answers/solutions to any problem.
Hope you enjoy your Sunline as much as we all do!

Thank you for your prompt reply. I have done a Google search, but since the Sunline company is officaillyclosed, did not find much helpful information. I do love the little Que and hope to take it to the Clolrado mountains, which are only 45 miles away, this weekend.

Monetta, the items/appliances you have in your Sunline are NOT specific to Sunline....not sure which awning you have I'm thinking it may be an A&E/Dometic
however - I am not familiar with the Que....so if you look at the awning arm you may see a different name.
Awnings - Dometic

There should be a tool in the camper that looks like a straight rod with a circle on one end and a little hook on the other end. If you look at the front end of the awning roller tube there should be a latch piece that sticks out a little. Use the end of the tool with the circle to reach up and pull the latch down then look near the middle of the awning roller tube for a little loop of fabric, usually black. It is the end of a pull strap that winds up inside the awning. Use the other end of the tool to grab that loop and unroll the awning.
Words get confusing so I will try to get some pictures in the daylight that will make it clearer.
The owners manual is just a binder that contains material for each of the things in your Que like fridge, stove, etc. If you look at the top of the forum page you will see a tab labled "Files". Almost everything in your Que will be in those files.

I just found a website that has some good pictures showing how to open an awning.

Dear Gene & DW Ginny;
Perfect! Great website with instructions. I tried it but one side does not disengage. I will get some silicone spray and try it again. If that doesn't work, I will take it to the local trailer sales and see if they can help . Thank you for your help! Every one who responded seems so friendly. I know I am going to enjoy this little gypsy wagon. I had to drive to Phoenix (8 hours) to pick it up. I plan to take it to the Colorado mountains this weekend. We live in NW NM, 45 minutes from Colorado. Thank you again!

That is the way this forum is, there are so many good people here.
Enjoy your "new" camper and remember, there are no dumb questions here so feel free to ask if there is something you want to know.

Monetta,
Welcome to the group and congrats on your Que purchase. I am guessing that your Que has an A & E awning on it. On a few occasions I have had my A & E awning "stick" a bit. One arm would open like it should, but the other one would be hung up. Sometimes all it took was for me to stand at the end of the awning and give the awning arm a little " sideways shove", this sometimes takes the bind off and will let the arms release. I have also, on occasion, had to grab the stuck arm and pull it away from the trailer a bit, then it would roll down like it should.
Probably just a little stuck since they do shift some during transit.
Keep up posted.
Kitty

DW Ginny, Gene, Kitty, Poppy, Nana;
Thanks everyone! The awning was indeed stuck, maybe from the trip, and the pictures from the website Gene sent explained everything, and I got the awning down without any difficulty. I have started a notebook on various suppliers to make a personalized manual. Off to the mountains Thursday! Thanks again! Monetta

Glad the awning arm loosened up for you. As has been said ask away - we all had to learn about our TT's at some point in our lives!
Have a wonderful time!!!!

When you close the awning be sure to lock the arms in the closed position. I even put some small bungee cords on mine in case the locks vibrate loose. Nothing like a awning acting like a sail while riding down the highway at 50MPH. Very bad on gas mileage.

small cat collars in black work perfect for clipping the awning in place on each arm when closed. and look like they are supposed to be there. lol just a hint

Here's the owner's manual sheet from a Que SE that lists most appliance and component model names/numbers.
If there's any manuals you can't find, let me know because I have quite a few manuals saved in PDF form. My computer is down right now, so I'm typing this on an old one, so I may not have access to some manuals right away.

Hi ! FYI---
While installing a new floor in my Que, I discovered a hidden VIN number on a metal plate beneath the threshold. Monetta

Yup, they did put them there. Is yours the RE that was originally sold at All American Coach in NJ? I remember seeing it for sale a couple weeks ago out that way. I did have a VIN for that, but I don't recall what it was (it was 63xx) and can't look it up since my main computer is down at the moment. I do remember it had different/new fenders on it.
