Hi, my name's Jon

My wife and I are the new owners of an '88 Saturn 1550 or 1661; I'm not sure which. It everything seems to work and it seems like it will fulfill our needs. We'll be using it as a cargo trailer while we relocate from West Virginia to Oregon, then we will use it as our homestead. My wife, Lauren, will be pulling it with a 2013 Nissan Escape with the 6 speed manual. I'll be following in an '88 carbureted Toyota 4 speed pickup with our more water resistant possessions. I'd like to be able to come to you folks for advice on things ranging from matching plaid upholstery to sights to see along our travels. Pics to follow soon...

Welcome Jon and wife!

This is the place to ask questions.....you will find everyone here to help in any way possible.

If you go to the files tab up top and click on brochures, go to the year of your TT - there should be pictures of floor plans - you should be able to figure out which model you have!

Welcome to SOC, Jon and Lauren! Sounds like you'll be having a great adventure moving across country with your Sunline. Ask those questions and post those pixs!

Be a little careful loading it, it does not take long to exceed the GVW.

Looks good! I have a 1983 T-1550.

As Tim said be careful on loading and do your best to balance your weight. I.e. load your weight as equally front and back as you can. The wheels are trying to be a pivot. Think of it as being a teeter-talter or see-saw.

I don't envy towing with the manual tranny.

Welcome to the forum. The T-1550 is a very nice trailer. Enjoy it.

Welcome Jon to the SOC! As mainah said before me,please be careful loading your 1550--first of all it only leaves you 1000# for loading,or a little less if you have full gas tanks or any water onboard. Secondly, remember it is only a single axle and a blowout from overloading,or a broken axle, can be very serious! Just a suggestion..you might reconsider and use it to stay in on your trip and tow something better designed for hauling...

Wow, nice looking from the outside, especially for a 26-yr-old trailer!
