Hey from SC Newbie 1982 Sunline looking for info

Hey from South Carolina! I just bought my first hard sided camper! 1982 Sunline. 15 1/2 SB. Trying to find out what the SB stands for. I just signed up here and looks like some happy campers! Looking forward to learning a lot from here!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I was also wondering why on the title the weight is listed at 17,000 lbs. Do you think that is a typing error. I am going Monday to transfer to my name and was wondering.

Welcome, nbilton! Of course we're "happy campers," we own (or have owned) Sunlines. Nice people here and a good place to ask any questions you have.

Yes that is a mistake - go to the tabs up above and double click files.....download the brochure for your Sunline, I looked at it yesterday to see if I could determine what SB stood for but didn't see anything quickly!

I believe it is 1700 lbs. Will the highway dept. change if I ask them to?

Got to be an error. 1700# sounds much more realistic, dry/empty weight.

SB stands for Super Bath. This is vs. the 15' SC, which is the Super Compact. The Super Compact only had a marine toilet in it whereas the SB has a wet bath with toilet, shower (which share the floor area with the shower pan), and bathroom sink. Even though the SB was a somewhat reverse floorplan of the SC, the main difference is in the bath.

As you can imagine, the SC wasn't a big seller once the SB was introduced.

Also, if you're curious, the 15.5' SB became the T-1550 in 1983, and then continued on to be produced for over 10 years after that.

It does weigh about 1600# dry, about 2700# wet.

Hi nbilton,

Welcome to the club. My wife, Nancy, and I hope you enjoy your "new to you" Sunline. As has been said, you'll find lots of help and info on this site and many friendly people too.

Again, Welcome!

Thanks! I am trying to learn about my camper and I have so many questions!! I have a manual but it does not get very specific! I can see the black water tank but are there suppose to be more than that one. I do not see a grey. How can you tell how full it is getting?
