Hello! How's the weather by you?

I live in illinois and have been looking really hard at buying a 1986 Sunline. I feel the trailer is in good shape, but my concern is getting new brakes for the axle. I don't know if the parts are still available. I posted two post and no replays yet. Anyway, I feel like Sunline campers are very well built and even at 28 years old the trailer will give me lots of years of camping. The camper I'm looking at is a 2 owner trailer with lots of maintenance records. I hope to purchase the trailer this week and share more information with this site. Thanks in advance from anyone who will help me with questions along the way.

Brake parts should not be an issue.

Welcome to SOC!

Agree with Janalee - from the pixs, the camper looks like it's in very good condition especially for an '86. Buying a used camper is a lot of pressing on walls, jumping on floors, looking in cabinets, checking systems, looking at maintenance records, questioning owners, doing all the tire-kicking, etc., and still it's a "crapshoot," even with a trailer as well-made as a Sunline. That being said, we bought a used '02 Sunline two years ago and love it!

Hope you enjoy yours!

(BTW, the weather here in central PA is dreary, didn't get out of the 60s today.)

From my experience looking at campers it that if the camper is in great shape for its age than it has been well maintained and maintance was kept up. I have looked at a lot of campers before we got our 1990's Sunline. All the ones that we looked at around the same year or even newer were in terrible shape, and not maintained well or at all. We are the 3rd owed of ours and it was well maintained by both owners. We have not had any problems with ours. We also own a 1980's Coleman pop up that we are the 3 rd owner of and it was and still is well maintained that my sister is going to be the next owner of it.
