Hello from Sebring Florida
Hello Everyone,
Just joined since we purchased a Sunline Solaris, 1991 model T-2362. Haven't had it long enough to do anything but take a few pictures that I have posted to a album. Still searching the site and trying to find my way around. Hope to meet more of you as time goes by.
Jim and Bev

Hi Gary!
I'm the jim of the Jim of the Jim and Bev. We are excited about our tt and will probably do a short run soon enough. Maybe go bug relatives or something.
When I found this site I was looking for somewhere that others would be familiar with problems I might bump into and reading posts lets me know this is that place. I am a old retired heavy equipment mechanic and if I can help I'll be sure to insert my two-cents.
Trying to catch up on all the threads is a real task but I'm doing my best.
Jim

Thanks John!
We've been washing the inside, well Wifey has been, and I'm trying to find places to store our necessary junk. We had a motorhome and it had tons of storage. Now I have all this camping stuff I can't carry with us. Atleast if I can get the satelite dish loaded we can go anywhere, LOL!
Thanks for the reply.
Jim

My tow vehicle is a pickup with a tonneau cover. (cap would be better). The truck bed is full all summer with the necessary camping stuff: chairs, tarps, water carriers, portable holding tank, tools, and on and on. I use storage bins to contain everything and with the tonneau cover it looks tidy while camping or just going to work.
I pretty much store in the camper only the stuff used in the camper.

I'm beginning to see that the tt is only for things needed while camping. No storage for much more than the sewer connection, water hose and electrical cord. I did wedge some leveling blocks in the rear compartment and a very small toolbox under the couch. Will take a short trip, not far from home, to see just how much I miss of what I leave at home. That way I can run home for what is needed instead of buying new stuff.
I did find some brackets bolted to the underside of the camper. Called the previous owner and he said they were to hold a six-foot ladder. I never even thought i needed one of those. *go figure*

Jim,
Do you have the twin beds or queen? Either way, there should be a bunch of storage area underneath.
I started carrying a 10' ladder a couple of years ago. It is just tall enough to reach the roof and let me climb onto the roof safely. But, my TV is a long bed PU and I can put the ladder on the rack with the canoe.

Steve,
We have the double bed and the previous owner put a standard mattress on it to replace the lighter factory one with the trimmed corner. I lift the bed and have a stick to hold the weight up while I'm in there. Wifey has said she has need of some of that room for whater she thinks is required. Since he put the rack under the frame I will try using it until the ladder scrapes the road somewhere. Then I'll do without or carry differently.

Jim,
Your trailer should have a fairly tall wardrobe just to the right of the fridge. Ours has pretty much the same wardrobe. It came from the factory with three shelves which are removeable. We left them in place and it created a lot of space for storing kitchen stuff of all kinds. If your rig does not have the shelves, you might consider making some.
Since we camp mostly in parks with no water or electric hook-ups, I added some plastic closet rod holders in the shower and that is where we store all the hanging clothing items. The PVC over wood closet rod is easily removed and I used SS screws to mount the holders. If we do want to use the shower, it is almost instantly ready.
Your shower may not work so well for that, however, but it is an idea.

The previous owners camped as you do with no hookups but we will be doing a combination of full hookup and dry camping. Dry camping on the road adn then campgrounds or in a driveway with atleast 110V. The on elittle battery in this unit doesn't lend itself well to much going it alone. I guess I do need a small generator. That is what we kept the motorhome so long for. It came in handy for hurricane season. We cooked many a pot of coffee for the neighborhood while the power was being restored.

Jim, while you should plug into "at least 110V", you definitely don't want 220. Unfortunately the 30 amp ends on RV cords look just like 30 amp 220 and that will fry everything in an RV.

Hi Henry, I meant atleast 110V if not water and sewer. Never would connect to higher voltage. I use a meter to check each time I plug in.

This is http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...n-ladder/52090 ladder we use.....and no I did not spend $270.00 on a ladder, my mothers neighbor was moving and claimed he never used it and was going to put it out on the trash.......well I trashed right into the back of my truck! When I got it home Leo thought what the H*** but we use it often and it takes up no room at all.

Hi Jim & Bev,
If you want to try out your tt, I have just the spot! Check out www.lowkeyhideaway.com (Cedar Key, Fl) and you will love it. It is owned by Pat & Cindy (emam) and they also have a Sunline trailer. We will be there all of Feb & March, and all 6 of us could get together and butt heads. Whatcha think? It is one of the prettiest spots around. Pat & Cindy are crazy as coons, but omg we love them!!
You just back in your rig and the gulf is your back yard. How cool is that? Come on up...
Alice

Hi Alice, Thanks for the invite. After looking at the pictures on the website it looks very tempting. We hope we can get up there for a short one. Hopefully our little furbaby will be better by then. She is why we haven't hit the road yet. Doctors/Vets like the come back in two weeks whatever they treat.
We did go out to Cedar Key a long time ago, maybe 11 years or so. Since we have in-laws close to Fort Meyers, Pine Island, we settled closer to them. There was one year that five hurricanes hit Central Florida and we moved here the year before that. Broke Wifey into Florida living real quick, LOL!
