I just bought a 2005 Sunline T-2675 Toy Hauler, and I could not be more excited. It's my first travel trailer! She's faded on the outside but on great shape on the inside, but I do have some renovations ahead of me. Going to make her modern inside. I intend to drive it from my current residence in Colorado to its new home near Kettle Falls, Washington.
I'm doing the walkthrough on Friday and would love advice on what to look for. It's been winterized, and even though I've asked to be able to check outlets, appliances, plumbing, etc., it's unlikely they will let me do all that while I'm there. So any advice you have would be appreciated.
I think I'm going to do white inside with light blue trim. Here's some pics! They were taken in a hurry and in low light so they aren't great, but you get the idea. More in the next few posts...
I want to replace both faucets with single handle faucets, and all the blinds and curtains are going too. And so is the bed and bedspread.
The license plate holder is broken, but they said they'd fix that.
It will only let me post 6 at a time ... so we've got one flat tire that they said they would replace, and that hideous sofa is going. Going to put a dinette in there instead if I can find one.
Ok, that's all the pics I have! It's in remarkable condition for its age, but as you can see, I still have my work cut out for me. Would appreciate any advice about what to ask during my walkthrough. Thanks!
Initial look at the pictures is good- I don't see anything that jumps out as wrong, besides the flat tire. Hopefully the tire wasn't damaged. You'll want to make sure these tires aren't more than five years old before making your long trip, or you should really replace them.
Hopefully the dealer replaces the taillight and doesn't add a bracket on instead. Either works, but replacing the taillight would look better.
The interior color is called Country Blue Floral, FYI. In case you want to offer up any of the factory decorations to anyone here. It was used in 2005 and some very early 2006 models.

Hi and Welcome!
The camper from the pics does look in good shape but hard to tell as they are not in the right areas to see a water infection.
You know about the tires already. The wood blocks on the A frame could have been someones leveling blocks to put under the tires to level up the camper in the campsite. They are not original Sunline provided.
If you want to do a water infection inspection, (highly recommended) see this post and come with the moisture meter. Use the meter in wall mode. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...per-17613.html Home Depot and Lowes sell them too.
It would not be surprising there is some level of water infection. It all depends if it was stored under cover or not and even that may not totally eliminate it. The meter can scan inside the camper into the walls and the ceiling. And it can scan from the outside looking in too as well as scanning up on the bottom of the camper through the black plastic membrane. It will see through the fiberglass. It does pick up on metal in the walls, nails, staples, wires but they are blips on the meter. A water infection is not a blip but a large area. There is a learning curve on the meter to rule out false trips, but a water infection can be many feet square.
By using a step ladder from the side of the camper, look at all the caulking sealants around every roof opening and the perimeter of the camper. The 4 roof corners and the front and rear roof to wall seams are the most likely to get infected along with the actual 4 vertical walls corners on the camper. This thread can help on what good and bad caulk looks like. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...1-a-11508.html At the end of the 1st post is a link to my T-1950 project camper no. 1 that will show what a 10 plus year old caulking looks like that had never been maintained and putty tape seal leaks used around doors and windows etc.
If you see real bad caulking that is a heads up what might be trapped in the walls, ceiling and under the floor. All roof leaks run down inside the walls and end up in the bottom of the floor over time. Many times you will not see water stains or marks inside the camper but the wall, ceiling or under the floor may be soaked. The vinyl wallpaper is a very good seal to keep it out of the camper.
If you find a water infection, this does not mean to not buy the camper. However it can help negotiate a lower price. If you have common wood tools and time, these are all repairable. Many times you fix them from the outside in. The materials cost is not that bad however hiring out the labor can go sky high due to the amount of time it takes.
Hope this helps and good luck. Let us know how you make out.
John

Thanks, Sunline Fan! I have arranged for the dealer to remove the sofa for me so I won't have to deal with that myself. "Country Blue Floral." That sounds about right. The sofa is in excellent shape but it is just not my style and offers no storage. Any idea where I can find a dinette set that will fit in there?

A dinette was actually an option, if not in that, it was in the non toyhauler version T-2075. They are quite rare and you probably won't find the parts for one, but you could make it yourself. They were nothing more than wood construction with a foam cushions.

I may have to do that. I also considered buying premade benches and just securing them to the floor.
The rear bench will need a little customization, and maybe up to the front one too- it'll probably have to be built around the wheel well and water heater under there, so just an FYI if you change your mind on removing the couch. Sunline often would box stuff out like this, which would cut out from the floor space to sit at the dinette. So you'll have a dinette, but 1/3 of the floor space will be taken up with a box.

The plumbing is all standard house stuff the fixtures are either 4 or 8" a single handle may not work because you may end up with 2 holes unless they are made for the 4 or 8" centers.
I just replaced all the mini-blinds in my 2007 t-257sr. I got them from Stevesblindsandwallpaper.com. The blinds fit right in the existing brackets. Measure the rail width and then the length (from bottom of rail) and order the same size as an outside mount. They still use the tilt wands, but now have a one touch lifting mechanism instead of a lift cord. Not sure if I like the system or not, but the blinds are very nice. Premium 1" RV mini-blinds. Very good customer service. I got one blind wrong, so I shipped it back within the 2 week grace period and they sent a new one. Good luck with the toy hauler.
