First time owners
Hello,
Thank you JohnB for the welcome.
I found this site while trying to figure out which 1993 Sunline we have. I have found out through the brochures that we have a Solaris T2460. We bought our Sunline from a private owner who claimed to be the second owner. We found out after our purchase that it has a reconsructed flood title. We are about to dewinterize to get ready for our first trip coming up at the end of May.
This looks like a great place to get answers to questions as the come up.
Again thanks for the welcome.
SusanB

Welcome Susan! Hopefully your trailer isn't too much of a mess from the flood damage. I've seen some really moldy ones come from that. A moisture meter can definitely be your friend to help discover hidden water damage: http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f7...per-17613.html

Thank you Sunline Fan. I was pretty sure that the only water damage was to the floor until I looked at the link showing how the moisture meter works. Hopefully we find nothing. We are going to go on a weekend trip, then rip up the floor that was poorly redone. The previous owner said the floor was damaged from the freezer on the fridg thawing, draining and ruined the floor.

While that seems like a likely story, I don't believe it. RV freezers don't frost up much in normal operation, so there isn't much to thaw and drain. If the refrigerator was replaced with a dorm size electric only refrigerator, then I could see it happening.
Unfortunately the floor damage is probably from a roof or plumbing leak.

If there was a chance of flood damage before you go too far with it pull the wheels and brakes drums and have a look at the bearings and brakes. The seals do a good job keeping grease in but a very poor job of keeping water out. I agree with sunline fan there just is not enough melting water in a RV fridge to do any damage to the floor. With a flood title in a camper it real only has to meet a certain criteria with a motor vehicle it is an automatic total if the water was up to the dash. Any new construction you can see?

The fridge was replaced with two dorm sized frigde. However, I agree that it was more likely plumbing issues. When we turn the water pump after filling the water tank, water was running from the pump. It was just a fitting needing tightening. We have not been able to locate any damage other than in that area.

Nothing other than the floor being poorly replaced.
