Smile East TENN, 15 S.C. White & Stripes

East Tenn retiree here, prior boat restoration collector.. Finally acquired a mini RV after a three month search.. Initially wanted a mid 60's Canned Ham to Polish & go along with my 54 Feather Craft speedboat.. Wife wanted something more modern & not a total restoration for me..

We had Pop up way back in 70's & a used Class "C" M.H. & Newer Class "A" to Full Time in 2000.. Anyhow a neighbor had this SunLine only one street over. Two months ago reply was Not for sale & I gave up on it.. Sat am got a phone call saying it was offered for quick removal. His cousin had the key to locked door & paperwork. We cleaned out clothes / groceries & tow home.. The sticker says 1979, Not sure where V.I.N. # located. Using FILES here I see the 79 Brochure matches the tow Car pic , & floor plan is 15 S.C.,, with the front couch.. We have three burner top stove & OVEN. .Seems to have been refurbished a few years ago... 110 volt only refrig. Black rubber roof of some sort, nice install.. All the interior 110 light work , & I install a 12 volt battery & all 5 light work now. Dry bee nest in range vent hood. Will try & add pic , or give LINK , Our Webshots albums dont have url codes anymore (?) . ... Prior upstate New York resident & 12 years in east Florida.... Kids in Maine & just went there & sampled that FRYBURGH Fair. VERY LARGE. Lots of campers..

Early pics now posted in ALBUMS / Photo Gallery.

Welcome!

It could be a '79, but it could also be '78. They were basically identical- I can't tell them apart.

Your VIN will be both on the tongue (left side, near the coupler), and under the sill plate on the floor for the entry door. For the sill plate, you'll have to pull out a couple of screws holding that down, and the VIN tag should be right under there.

On the tongue, it's probably stamped into the metal coupler, so depending on how thick the paint is, it may be hard to see.

Your VIN is probably five or six digits.

Hi and welcome!

Hope you will consider a meet and greet in the future. There is one in PA, an Adirondack M&G in Sept. and we're trying to put together one in Maine, near Fryburg for next year ! Other Sunline Meet and Greets in other states as well!

Thumbs up INTERIOR PICS up

THANKX GANG,: I added Two Interior pics in the PHOTO / Album section.
Seems to have Cherry ceiling paneling. & Newer floor plywood from prior owner.. My neighbor got the Furnace working yesterday, just a better spark pistol.. Oven fires also. We are fabing a rear table at this time. Came with plywood tilt up .(?) Will need to make cushions. As large mattress =too heavy. Some paint & outside metal polish daily .
. Also got a slightly used bolt up Reese III hitch for the Ford Sport trac truck on Fri... Need to install. .. Could possibly get the nickname "Rooster"
as some of the kitchen decals have that logo. & the Orange / red stripes.. ??

Cool

Posted a rear pic in the album / photo sections... Got the bent rear bumper cut off with a Sawsall & grind wheel . Needs to be extended
& raised for bike / spare tire rack... Got side door painted, & most exterior polished as our weather is low 60's each afternoon in east Tenn.
. Some more interior varnish went in ..

Vin Title HELP .?

GANG,: Tonight in sun I see the # 183445 stamped into the coupler,
BUT also next to it stamped is US PATEN.??. I may need a COP to
verify a tracing as I struck out today at D.M.V. . Did not get a TITLE
paper from prior owner , & his prior owner (Which I called on phone)
propably did not have a D.M.V. title , but he bought from a Policeman.!

2nd piece of paperwork, sort of easy is a dealer estimate value,
notorized letter.

I removed the entry door sill plate one day , but with new floor / carpet work etc, I did not see any numbers.? .. Would that 183445 # be the
actual VIN of this 15 ft Sun Line 1979 .?? THANKS.

TENN would be easy on a POP UP style & lady clerk said the wall sticker
TN 79 - 22211 would surfice.

Nope, that isn't the VIN. It would be about the same number of digits though, but would end in a 78 or 79.

This is on the left side, and on the side of the metal coupler, not the top, correct? I can get you a pic when I get on the computer later. It's kind of a sloppy stamping since it was done by hand, so the numbers aren't necessarily all straight like a casting.

Hello Split, and as the others have said, welcome! Looks like a cozy little rig. BTW, how did you come up with the handle "split". I have restored a number of VW bugs, one of which was a "51 "split" window bug.

Smile BINGO under Brake away switch rivot.6 #'s

3rd try & it was found. Slightly further back on the TOP EDGE of the frame,
Actually UNDER the electric brake- Away,,cable pin rivot switch , This is on street
side , opposite of entry door side. SIX numbers all in line, Start with 45
end with 79.
Sanded paint off coupler & curb side (Entry door) said S A E Class 3 ,
while the other side said 2 in ball. . Prior owners did heavy black paint
on the front frame area. At least now I can request valid TITLE from TN
D.M.V.

S.F. I sent you the oval RVIA # 7 digits, near outside entry door.

Album pics posted

THANKS Guys , Gals , Actually I posted some pics in the ALBUM section
over the winter time.. Need to re-fab the rear dinette table , as the prior owner was a traveling contractor bachelor & made a permanet queen bed
with larger plywood rectangle & emoved those wall mounted pivot brackets
for table top..
. The handle "SPLIT" in on different antique boat boards, & a combo
of hobbbies.. Just before we were married in 72 I scored a 1963 SPLIT
rear window Corvettte coupe , 4 speed , side pipes car. estate deal ,lower New York state... Did not keep that long in APT complex & both of us had new Plym cuda muscle cars.... In the boat deals I find hulls with TOO BIG motors or too small motors & have to SPLIT up the package to re-sell
better combo...... In my 5K running days were very successful racing
negatiive SPLIT times, running faster miles at end than at beginning of race........or some oldie songs , or now it time to go . so lets.... SPLIT.

YES , need to get this camper on road next month. PS We are north of Chattanooga , TENN on a quiet cove lake / river . Hilltop ,wooded lot, room for 3 smaller RIGS if anyone is driving thru on Rt # 27 N / South direction , west side of river... Early retire here.
