Another new Sunline owner

Hi all,

I've been reading this forum since it's beginning and researching Sunlines for about 1 1/2 years now. We originally planned on buying next spring but with the factory shutting down, we didn't think there would be a selection by then. We picked up our new T-289SR yesterday at a dealer 5 hrs from us. Although it was a long drive (and a long wait 'til spring) we thought it was worth it knowing the quality of Sunlines. I dearly hope the factory will resume production next year and continue their tradition of building a quality product.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Congratulations on your new Sunline! That's a big unit you bought. Should be a great experience. We can't wait until spring either. This will be a L O N G winter I'm afraid. Welcome to the site too.

Bob

Mike,

Congrats on your new Sunline !! The wife and I also purchased a Sunline this past month, not wanting to take a chance on not getting what we were looking for (T264SR).

We can sympathize with your long winter wait. Spring will not come soon enough for either of us.

There is no question we are in for years and years of great travels with our Sunlines.

Mike & Anne

Leo & Kathy,

It's a 2007 289SR front bedroom, rear livingroom with slide. I had the dealer install a power jack, turbo maxx fan in the L/R vent and maxxair covers on the remaining vents. The big rear window will be nice when we back up to the lake at our favorite NY state park next summer. We had a Jayco Kiwi Too that was 2 ft longer but the low ground clearance was a problem at many of the state parks we go to. By the way, what part of upstate NY are you from. We're not to far from Watertown

We originally looked a a 264 but when LaRue emailed pictures and floorplan of the 289, we knew that was the one. We liked the 264 but had been wanting a rear L/R model for quite a while. I'm sure we'll be happy with this one for many years.

So you are almost our neighbors! :P We live in Old Forge about 50 miles south of Watertown....what is your favorite NY campground? We love Grass Point and are looking forward to camping in our back yard - Nick's Lake - the early part of summer!!!

The entire family - (both daughters + their respective families) are all going on vacation this August to 1000 Islands and they all want to do a trial run, so I figured going to Nicks Lake was far enough away from the house that it would be "camping".......it will give the grandsons (14 + 3 + 3) the experience of true camping and not just being outside and going into the house when they want something (they have all "camped" in our yard during the summer). The 14 y/o has camped with us in the past and loves it, but he'll still try to sneak into the TT for his gameboy or DVD player when we are not watching him. One DD has a pup (our old one) and the other daughter will be in a tent - thank goodness between the two campers there will be room IF it should rain!!!!!

I remember the days of tenting it in the rain and I didn't like it one bit!

Well good luck with your new Sunline - IF you enjoy it 1/2 as much as we enjoy ours - you will be very - very happy!!!!
