Hi JohnSio, welcome to the forum.

I am not sure about the 1950 but here is a picture of the side of my 2363. Some of the items may be similar. Between the open hatch and the water heater are the water fill hatch with the locking door and at the bottom is the spigot for the fresh water drain. Turning that plastic handle 180 degrees CCW will allow it to drain. If it hasn't been turned in awhile it may be "sticky" and requires a slow firm turn. Maybe a 1950 owner can confirm if their's looks like that.

I should add, we welcome ALL questions and none are ever considered dumb questions. We were all new at this at one time.

I agree with Gene...they are almost always directly below the fill hatch. We recently replaced a dry-rotten white plastic fresh water drain valve. Mine was so far gone even getting it to open and close with needle nose pliers was a challenge. Good thing is with a $4 part from Camping World and a hose clamp I was back in business.

Battery problem

Hi, We have a 1998 Sunline Solaris that we just bought. We had to replace the battery and now the battery seems to be draining with nothing turned on at all. We replaced the new battery, thinking it was defective. But now the second one is draining also. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Your radio and/or CO detector could be draining your battery.
These two always draw current. You could pull their DC fuses or consider adding a battery disconnect / cutoff switch.

Here's a YouTube video that may help explain it.
YouTube

Hope this helps.

John, let me add to Hutch's comments. If you plan to install a cut-off switch, consider purchasing the version that can handle two batteries. It's only a couple of dollars more, and if you ever upgrade to dual batteries, you'll be saving yourself the expense of purchasing another switch.

We dry camp a lot so I've installed on/off switches on any appliance in the trailer that has a vampire drain like the AM/FM/CD radio. That saves pulling the radio out of the wall to get at the fuse.

There's also an onboard propane detector. It's usually located about a foot off the floor. Every rig I've owned has it in the kitchen/galley area. That's another vampire drain. d

If you do install a battery switch, they're generally located very close to the battery itself. In most Sunline TT's, that would be out on the A frame somewhere. When you shut off the battery, it is totally disconnected from the trailer's wiring. That means that the onboard convertor can not charge the battery. So, if you hook up a shore line a few days before a trip, remember to turn on the battery so it will get a fresh charge.

Can you post a picture of the switch?

Here are only guesses:
- Bathroom Light
(I remember our Sunline had a wall switch for the bathroom light and if the switch on the light wasn't on, the wall switch did nothing - needed to keep the switch on the light on for the wall switch to control the light)
- Bathroom Fan

Check for a small switch in your refridgerator. It is a door seal heater for use in humid conditions. If it is left on, it will drain your battery in a few days. Found out about this switch the hard way with my first trailer

As Hutch and Kathy said, bathroom light. The switch should light up red when it is on and then you need to have the switch on the light itself turned on.
