New Sunline Model T-195SR

As my wife and I are planning on ordering a new T-1950 soon, I have been surfing other RV forums and found a listing on RVSearch.Com for a 2007 Sunline T-195SR. Yes it appears to be a modified T- 1950 with a slide out just for the sofa portion. There is nothing on the Sunline website or brochure about this but looking at the dealer photos it does look legit. Anyne else out there with any more info on this?

Ed

Yes, that does look like it has a slide for the sofa, BUT, in the 1950's there is a table mounted on the front wall and I don't see that in the photo. Looks more like a shallow cabinet across the entire front wall. Maybe with the slide there is a free-standing folding table stored someplace? Would be interesting to see. So far, from photos I personally don't prefer the cherry wood, the drawers don't seem to match the framework very well. Glad I have the maple.

I shared your opinion until we saw the cherrywood in person. It does not photograph well because the doors seem to reflect the camera flash differently than the rest of the cabinet frame. However if you see it in person it looks quite good. We're still undecided as the finish we want.

Our present pre-SunlineRV has cherry wood throughout. It enhances the interior, I think. The cherry speaks more to quality than the kajillion oak and psudo-oak finished ones out there.

T195SR

This unit looks real nice, just wondering how far over the slide might come and if you can walk thru the unit with it in......that is the one draw back that we have seen with the Sunline Slide Rooms.

Edzius,

If you are still interested in the T195SR there is a dealer in CT that has one on his lot. With all the goings on with Sunline you may be able to negotiate a very attractive deal. Post or PM if you want more info.

Ed,

Not sure how close my Sunline dealer would be to you, but as of monday he still had a 1950SR on his lot. He is located in Adamstown, PA, not far from Reading, PA. Contact Lee Voight at Stoltzfus RV 800-752-2988, tell him I told you to contact him. He is not high pressure, honest and will give you a good deal.

Thanks to all for looking out for a unit for us. We put a deposit on a T1950 with Lee at Stoltzfus on a unit that's pretty darn close to what we had planned to custom order in February. Warranty or no warranty my wife Theresa said: "go for it, it feels rite". I guess our new Sunny will keep our 1965 Plymouth company (also extinct) . Looks like we've adopted another orphan into a loving home, and happy to do it.

Congrats you two. You have made a very good decision. Regardles of the uncertain future of Sunline, you have purchased one of the best built TT's there are. If anything goes wrong with it, more than likely it would be a component built by someone other than Sunline. Don't know if you went to Stoltzfus and met Lee or odrered your 1950 over the phone, but if you did a phone order, I'm sure you'll be pleased when you meet Lee. He's one heck of a nice guy to work with. DId you get the 1950 with the couch slide? What options are on it? Inquiring minds want to know When will you be picking it up. Geesh, I'm so full of questions. but I get so happy when another Sunline finds a new home.

got a T1950

Thanks for all the information. We did purchase a T1950 from Lee Vought at Stolzfus in Adamstown...took delivery the Sat. after Thanksgiving. We can't wait for the spring camping season to commence. The first long trip we'll probably take with it will be to the Spring 07 carlisle car show.

Missed you by a day

Ed, I missed you by one day. I picked up my new T-2553 from Lee on Black Friday. With this warm weather we've been experiencing, it's too bad the trailer was winterized when I got it. Like you, I'm anxious for spring to arrive.

Al,

Ironically we were at Farnsworth's Camping Center in Elysburg that same day looking at a T-289SR. Came back a week later, Dec 1st, during that nasty wind storm and towed it 300 miles home. That was a trip I won't forget. I thought it was going to overturn in the first 20 miles. Thankfully it's home undamaged and waiting for spring.

Mike:

I always hated those white-knuckle trips: We first towed our T-2051 with a Chevy Astro van which wasn't quite enough truck for the job. You really got to see how well matched your tow vehicle is to your trailer on your first trip. Between the wind and the hills (in the coal region of PA), you put the rig to the test. Normally, a friction anti-sway bar does a good job, but the winds were certainly beyond normal on the day you picked up your trailer! Glad to hear you got it home safely.
