Black Holding Tank for a 2000 360SR

My husband and I just bought our first travel trailer so please bare with me as we are novices when it comes to any of this. We bought a 2000 360SR that was hooked directly into a sewer system and has no holding tank. We are on a seasonal site now without sewer hook up and need a black tank. Does anyone know the dimensions for this particular trailer's black tank?

Hi abricker,

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club and congrats on your new to you Sunline!

No worries on the questions, ask away. There are no dump questions here, we try to help as we can.

Your model is not that common but that does not mean a member may not pop in that has a similar one. I though I recall a newer one showing up on the forum a year or so ago.

You may be able to yourself back into the approx dimensions if we provide you with some features to look for.

For your year camper, the tanks where held onto the bottom of the camper with small metal plates every 8 to maybe 10 inches to hold it to the floor joists. They look like this,

And here is a basic tank setup. This is mine after I added a tank sprayer to it.

Look to see if any of those metal tabs are left hanging under the camper. They may have screwed them up tight. If they took the plates off, look for a series of 2 holes in a row on a floor joist in a pattern which will outline the perimeter of the tank.

If you are fortunate to have the plates left, then measure from screws on plate to plate to create the width of the tank flange. And ideally the all 4 ends of plates are left and you can back into the entire tank flange size. Then you have a lot to start with finding a new tank. Just have to find a tank to fit those flange dimensions or close to it and be about 35 gallons.

Following this link Sunline Coach Owner's Club - Sunline Owner's Files - 2000 Sunline Solaris & SR Travel Trailers

You can download the year 2000 brochure which lists your camper. The brochure says your black tank was 35 gallons and the grey tanks was 35 gallons.

Is your gray tank still in place or did they take that tank down too?

Hope this helps and good luck

John

Are you sure it doesn't have the tank? If it was hooked into a sewer, that doesn't necessarily mean it was directly hooked up.

The 360SR was actually pretty popular in its time. Unfortunately because it's so large, most all of them have been permanently parked in campgrounds since new, and owners generally aren't the type to be interested in a camping club- their club is where the seasonal is.

John,
Thank you for the warm welcome to the Sunline Community. Your response was very helpful to my husband and I. I'm a visual learner so I especially appreciated the pics you included.

We worked with one of our local RV dealerships and between him and you, I believe we got the correct tank ordered and my husband feels confident installing it!

Thanks Again,

Angela

Yes, I am sure it doesn't have a tank and you are correct the camper did sit for 12 years at a seasonal site. We are most likely going to keep it on a site at the river as well but we do not have a sewer hookup.

I found the Sunline club and thought it would be a great place to get answers regarding our Sunline from more knowledgeable people than ourselves.

Thank you for responding,
Angela

Well if your going permanent with no sewer hookup you will still need something to transport sewage to dump station. Here's an option. you can store, transport and dump with on of these.
