Hi Folks,
I found an interesting web site and article that helps explain some things about towing over the ratings of your truck and hitch components.
Towing The LIne
I'm passing this along to help folks realize what may occur if your rig is over the limits of the manufacture. The main point deals with operating a vehicle towing a trailer over the ratings as declared by the manufacture and what that may mean if you get in an accident.
Here is the main site
Dangerous Trailers.org There is a lot on there about utility trailers and the lack of an emergency breakaway switch and operating battery to stop the run away trailer in the event of a decoupling and failure of safety chains. I never realized the problem was as big as it is. And for me, anyone getting hurt towing is one accident one too many.
Any one needing help towing their Sunline, Sunline Owers Club is a place where you can ask any question about towing or hitches to get help or point you where to look for help. We have many members willing to help that they too have learned the hard way.
Hope this helps and safe towing.
John
