Draw bar/hitch head issue solved, I had Gary order this:

http://www.etrailer.com/p-54980.htm

So, all we need to do now is take his current draw bar and attach my current hitch head to it and we will have identical draw bar/ hitch heads.

The head was going to cost $199, and since my draw bar is SO darn HEAVY, we opted to get the combo since it was only 25 bucks more.

I always leave the WD bars on the tongue of the trailer so "I" know where they are.

Then we can try to sell my heavy draw bar and his hitch head.

22 hours and 58 minutes to go

The link does not work. It sent me to some Micorsoft log in page. Need the place you got it as you may have found one cheaper then I did. And I need to get a spare new head for the T2499 sale.

Your old hitch shank. For someone towing needing a low drop, that "is" the shank of choice. Nice fine adjustment up and down the shank to level out the TT. It has more holes in it. And it is built like a beast.

I have one from the T2499 days on my 2500 Suburban and it is not going anywhere as they are hard as hens teeth to find any more.

And that 6" drop shank on your F350 will have many inches hanging down doing nothing as you do not need that large drop any more.

Time is ticking less each minute....

Excited isn't a strong enough word! With all the hell they've put her through, driving/pulling
that thing off the lot will be a SWEET moment!

Gary and Kitty

Yup that is the rigth hitch head. Reese 58167

Oddly enough I ran into that same Etrailer combo last night looking for someone else.

You can buy just the hitch head for $199 and you can buy the hitch head and shank for $225???? with free shipping!

Shanks are generally $100 to $140 pending where you get them. The mark up on this stuff is something. Gary got a deal on his shank.

Kitty on your F350 with the new shank it will look similar to this as far as excess shank hanging below the head.

I use the words "similar" as that is a 2 1/2" shank and 1,700# WB bars.

You will be running on 6 chain links under tension and then tilt the head to get the WD on the truck.

By going to the new lower drop shank you won't have all that extra hanging metal below the hitch head. That would of looked like this before I upgraded from the 1,200# system to the 1,700# system.

Well you too have fun on Saturday. And you know us with the pics.....

Safe travels

John

Thank you Kathy!

I know that technically, you do not "Drive" them, but I am a locomotive engineer. The company that made the locomotives I run, was EMD (Electro-Motive Division of General Motors)

BTW: 11hrs 50Mins remaining!
