The term equalizer hitch get's confused a lot. Sort of like Monkey wrench, Cresent Wrench and Adjustable wrench. But in that case they all mean an adjustable style wrench. Where the term equalizer hitch, can means sort of 2 totally different things as some people say they love their equalizer and have no sway problem with it. It is a very common miss reading unless you heavy into WD hitches.

There is a company with a WD and sway controls all in one that gives similar performance to the Reese DC.

That brand is called Equal-I-zer made by Progress Manf. Here is there link. http://www.equalizerhitch.com/

This very good brand gets' confused with the standard WD hitch. Seems the marketing group should of used a better name, but they did not.

The EAZ lift hitch http://www.eaz-lift.com/ is a standard style WD hitch that can have a friction sway bar added to it for antisway control. For WD, it is a very good hitch, been around a long time. However it employs a friction sway bar verses the ultra high friction setup like Equal-I-zer uses or a Reese DC.

Actually some have added a Reese DC kit to an EAZ lift hitch when they found that the friction sway bar did not offer them the performance they needed.

I'm not going to bash the friction sway bar. It has it's place and where it works, it works. And there are places where for almost the same money you can get much superior performance for not a lot more $$. It all depends on what you are doing with it.

To your comment on the EAZ lift to a Hensley. The WD part of the hitch is very similar in function. In fact the WD bars are almost identical. However the Hensley uses a totally different anti sway principal then the EAZ lift, Or Reese or Equal-I-zer for that matter. The performance in sway control is not even comparable to the Hensley as the Hensley is so far advanced in sway effect elimination, again due to the principal it employs in controlling sway. The 2 hitches work on different operating principals for controlling sway.

Yep hunted this up already... am trying to digest this. Sent off for the printed brochure and downloaded the pdf.

Now trying to figure this out... I would rather order online if I can make an art of the deal to get the company to pay freight. I would like to avoid dealers altogether if possible. They turn me off in general... not that they are bad folks all in all around here but I don't want any razzle dazzle know what I mean?

So wondering... 10,000# or 12,000#???

And... anything else needed besides the below???

Or did I pick the not combo. equalizer, stabilizer one?
