See the picture. There are at least 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom of each windowframe, it would seem to be there to hold the screen in, but it's not. As far as I can see it serves no purpose at all as the screens are permanently attached/part of the inside frame...

That's a good question, I don't know either. Maybe they can hold a piece of Plexiglas in to sort of provide winter insulation? Instead of putting plastic film over the windows like some of us do with the newer units, this would be easier I think.

We had these on our former park model and they indeed held in the screens. Upgraded screens maybe, and didn't remove the clips?

I've totally disassembled our trailer and they do nothing.

I was thinking that maybe there was some sort of "accessory" like Sunline Fan mentioned. I can't see it being "upgraded frames" as the screen spline fits into a channel on the frame indicating that the frame is meant to have the screens in it, and therefore wouldn't have an external catch to hold a screen frame in...

Tis a puzzlement...

It is interesting. In our park model there were 10 of those exact clips (2 ea top/bottom, 3 ea. side) that held a metal framed screen in place. When we winterized the trailer we would remove the screen panels, cover them in heavy duty aluminum foil, and clip them back into place. Made excellent sun screens to eliminate fading over the winter.

That was my conclusion as well. But in the back of my mind I'm still a bit curious...my 1550 has them. I don't believe they were for screens. It just doesn't layout right and of course, as mentioned, there already are screens in the frame.

They are clips to hold something in place, but as several of you pointed out, the screens are already there and held in place by something else.

These clips are listed in RV parts catalogs but I can not remember the proper name to look up a link. (senior moment...

I used them in my '76 Prowler to hold thin Lexan sheets in place to make the trailer more useable in cold weather..

Prowler eh? Long shot here, but did it have a device to "walk" the trailer, a bar with 2 feet at the bottom of the A-frame jack into which a long handle could be inserted. You then raised or lowered the handle and moved it forward or backward to "walk" the trailer to the TV hitch.

Neighbor had one when I was a kid, and his trailer was a Prowler. I'd love to get one for my TT, but I can't find any info on it except for a patent... no idea who made it...
