H'mm I do not remember and exact cleaning post, but here is parts of a total replacement post. Replacing Roof Vents 101 (with Pic's)

To only do the screen cleaning from the inside, which by strange coincidence an I myself doing today.... Must be both of us are cleaning the camper heading to a M & G eh?

Here are the basic steps for inside cleaning. Find the 4 square socket screws on the outer shroud. Take them out, the shroud will come down. Bugs, dirt and all. Watch your eyes. Cover up the bed too....Also take the crank handle off.

Then look up on the screen and there are 2 more screws pending brand on the outside of the screen up in the roof vent. You may have to twist and fiddle with the screen to get it out of the opening. It hangs up on the roof rubber/bud board some times and some brand vents have slots with a tab that hold the vent in so you may have to squeeze the screen slightly on the edges to get it out.

Once down, wash, clean at will...

Good luck. I'll take some close up pic's later today when I have mine out.

Hope this helps

John

That would be on a Fantastic fan, those screens just unscrew or pop out without unscrewing anything else on the vent.

We have the Maxxair fan now, but one thing I always forgot--until I practically ripped up the screen--was to remove that little bezel ring that holds the whizzer's push button switch in place.

John had the excellent picture series above. I did post a picture in this thread (2nd post) that shows where the screws are to remove the screen from the inside after you remove the shroud (4 screws) from the inside) Seal around bathroom fan vent needs replacement

I looked for a long time and could never find the screws, they were well hidden, so I posted a picture when I found them.
