Venner

Hi All,
Thanks with help on propane smell. As I said earlier the liquid leak detector works great.
Thinking off replacing some wood venner in my 1985 sun line. Is there a source for this material??
Thanks jim

Jim -
We have a 1985 1550. It has two small overhead bunks that fold down, and underneath the mattresses are sheets of the wood paneling veneer that matches what is on the walls. They are just laying in there loose and are meant to support the mattresses, I guess. I noticed them when cleaning out the camper after we bought it. If you have these bunks, you may have the veneer sheets also and could always replace them with some other wood.

Any lumber yard that deals in high quality wood products and especially wood for cabinetry should be able to get nearly any veneer you want if they don't have it in stock. (That specifically excludes your typical home improvement centers.)

Let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages....

SunlineFan will know for sure, but I am pretty certain that birch plywood and veneers were very popular in TT's in the 1980's and earlier. If it is birch, you will find sanded birch plywood at places like Lowes and Home Depot.

Hmm, I really don't know! I think the Sunline stuff is a bit more white/brown where I think birch is a bit more yellow. Maybe it's just because I'm thinking of the old style birch paneling in old tin cans.

I guess it's all in the stain though. I think the Sunline panel has more of a clearcoat on it instead of stain.
