H'mm Boy this one is for sure odd. If this was by odd chance original, why would Sunline put a bend in the dump pipe? When most new tanks are bought, they do not have holes in them, they are cut in at assembly. Why wouldn't they just go straight down?

I sent note to one of a fellow T1350 owners to see if they could add anything. They are out camping right now with no internet. Maybe something might show up when they get back.

ah, i didn't know that john, i'll have to check the underbelly well to see what i can tell. it doesn't sound like sunline would make an odd duck. esp if it didnt' work well.

When I bought my '96 2553, I had an immediate problem with the toilet draining..everything seemed to stay right there in the 'pipe.'...no amount of water would flush it away. After a lot of investigating and measuring,I determined the tank was either too shallow or the 'pipe' was too long...leaving me with only a 2" clearance between the two---very very easy to clog that up. The selling dealer checked it out and agreed something was wrong but referred me to Sunline..(he assured me he would stand by it if they didn't..kudos to Media RV in Fairless Hills Pa.!) After much "negotiating",Sunline agreed to replace the tank,not quite admitting it was a faulty design...I have always wondered if any other 2553 owners had the same problem??.....hard to believe I "was the only complaint" about that tank..Janalee.

I have a T2553 and can see how a it would be possible. I've not had mine out in freezing temps.. The tank is very shallow under toilet about 4 inches, you can see bottom of tank with flush valve open. I use allot of flush water to move solids down deeper in tank. Thinking about adding a sprayer by toilet.

Finally got to this one, Noralee. Sorry for the delay. Haven't been back here as much as I should.

First of all, we have never used our plumbing, so I don't know how functional our setup is. We have only pressure checked the water lines for leaks when we first got her.

Our '88 T-1350 has the Aqua Magic IV (hand flush) and the exact floor plan that Gene posted. I opened the flush valve and saw that mine sweeps as well - the general direction of the door (front/right). I couldn't see all the way to the tank, so I don't know if it turns back down or goes into the tank at an angle. I have no idea if it has ever been changed from "factory". (I have been in maintenance long enough to know that I shouldn't put anything past anybody.) I can't see anything from underneath, of course.

I wonder if it's possible that there might be some object or buildup that would be slowing things down? With normal toilets, even a pencil can wreak havoc. It doesn't take much to snag TP. I can't imagine the pipe narrowing anywhere in a sewer line. That is a recipe for problems in itself.

Know what you mean. Once had a toilet that was constantly plugging and needing plunged. Getting fed up I replaced it. Took old one outside couldn't see any thing looking up from the bottom either. Took hammer and broke open the side at trap and there lodged tight as can be in the trap was a kids tooth brush.

I've seen times when a toilet auger wouldn't touch it - same kind of deal. I wouldn't expect that with a TT toilet, but who knows!?

My TT medicine cabinet is right above toilet. One time I opened the cabinet door and my blood glucose monitor fell straight into toilet. I didn't need it any way So anything is possible

wow, sad to say, this is the first thing that makes any sense with what is happening--unless of course it is freezing. what makes me think this could be happening is that the liquids seem to be draining over time. like if i flush and it appears to be clogged high into the 'pipe' and then when i flush it again later, it appears the clog has gone down, but it is really that the liquids have drained, and the solids have remained. so it would make sense, and some terrible fortune, that there is a flaw in the design/'fix' from the company or a PO and there is not sufficient clearance from the 'pipe' to the tank. if it is freezing, i'll know in the next few days as it warms up.

that said, and btw, thanks so much for chiming into this post, is the only way to any solution to remove the black tank and see what's going on and 1) cut the 'pipe' to make more clearance or 2) ...i don't know, modify the tank or replace? unfortunately, i have no place to take this to for them to take care of ;(

also makes sense if there is an obstruction. and taking it apart would be the only way to know more...this is such a yucky job to have to do myself <cringe>

It might be easier to remove the toilet from the flange and look down from there. .... still yucky but a lot less work than trying to drop the black tank. A small inspection mirror on a long handle may let you see a lot ...that you really don't want to see
