Sunline goofed...

Found my first issue with my 2380s. Pretty big one for it too...

When Sunline added the LPG line from the main feed (streetside) to the curbside external output, they missed the stud in the floor the first 3 times they tried to put the support bracing in.

They found it on the fourth time.

They never went back to patch up the holes in the underbelly material (the plastic woven material one).

Dangit. Water got in, but it doesn't seem bad.

I ordered underbelly repair tape from here:

http://www.mobilehomerepair.com/shield.htm

and when it comes in I plan to use a hairdryer to dry out the insides as good as I can, then patch it back up.

It really irks me they neglected to fix it- it's not in a spot where it is visible at all unless you are RIGHT underneath it- but definitely, without a doubt, was seen by the installer (as (s)he had to pull the other nails out of the torn-up holes). I don't blame the dealer at all, as I didn't see it until right underneath, and I only got underneath due to the lift from the axle flip.

Moral of the story:

CHECK YOUR UNDERBELLY! Someone may have missed something.....

I'll try to remember to re-post when the stuff gets here to fix it.

WOW- that place I ordered the repair tape from is quick.

Tape showed up this afternoon in the mail. I had ordered it Saturday around 1 pm- I guess their mail gets picked up later than ours.

Looks just like the underbelly material, but with a hella-sticky backing. Should be just what the doctor ordered.

Mooney,
Could you post some before and after pictures so we know what to look for? I for one would really appreciate it.
Joe

Certainly will - I won't have a chance to get down there until at least Friday though.

If you are at your coach before then, just try to get under her to check that there are no tears or holes in the material.

I found mine at the gas line bracing, obvious damage- there is a metal piece of strapping they wrapped around the gas line, and then nailed through the material and into a floorboard or wall stud. It looks like a snag in a blue tarp like you would use to cover a woodpile or something.

The hardest part is getting under a stock height coach...

Thanks for the leed on the patch kit. I need some. So not know how or when the small tears come from, but time to time one will come.

Sorry, but the photos I took came out so dark you can't tell anything.

I am confortable saying though, that you would have NO problem identifying any tears (snags) in the underbelly material.

It's just like a yard tarp, only black.

I wish my camera wasn't crud...
