Sometimes water damage could be worse.

I just wanted to post a link of a camper rebuild because it just amazed me at the lengths some will go to when it comes to rebuilding a camper. It also helped me to put into perspective the amount of damage I found when I got my new to me camper home.

So remember no matter how bad it seems, it could always get worse.

Dang. Spent my whole lunch hour going through all that. Quite an amazing job in rebuilding all that. Wonder how much all that cost?

I would say he could have bought an almost new camper for what he had in materials and labor, but some times, if you have the right mindset, the journey is more fun than the destination.

AAH, that's Bobsyouruncle from RV.net. I followed his post as he did that trailer. True he could have easily bought a new or newer rig, but what he has now is priceless. He KNOWS how it's built, knows it's built with good materials, made the floorplan what he wanted, and knows what he will face should he need to make repairs (no more guessing like we have to do with our Sunlines).

Gary & I have been discovering a lot of "How they did that" since we have been dis-manteling the 299. It is a real learning experience, but it was such a sad, costly way for us to obtain the 299.

Stan is still dealing with major issues since his horrible accident that destroyed their wonderful 299.

Well Im not ashamed to say I almost resold our saturn when I learned that almost every mechanical and electrical thing on the camper would either need replaced or rebuilt, but his rebuild gave me the inspiration I needed and this forum is giving me the knowledge I need to tackle something I don't know how to do, and judging by how much fun my wife is having, this will not be the last one, I just hope she waits until we get this one done before she finds another one.
