However MY microwave and my Fridge And my Radio unit dont work. The microwave does ZERO the radio ZERO. The fridge gives me little orange lights at the top but It never gets cold or kicks on. I tried the fridge on gas and electric. It lights on gas but never gets cold. I checked all the fuses and breakers i could find but they were good to my surprise. First, I'm sure someone more tech savy than me will reply, but in the meantime here's a suggestion on the fridge. If the little lights are on the fridge might actually be working. These camper fridges take days to cool down. What I do is put 2 frozen half gallon cartons of ice in mine, turn it on the day before we're leaving and not load the food in it until after it's been on 24 hours.

I too thought the same thing about the fridge when I first bought my trailer so I bought a fridge thermometer and hung it in there and it does go down to the safe level, the green area of the thermometer, but I find it does not seem as cold as we are used to in our house fridges where you can adjust the temperature.

What temperature does it go down to?

Did you resolve the microwave situation? They are sometimes plugged into a GFI outlet. If you have a GFi outlet try resetting it by pushing it's reset button.

Anything's possible, but the odds are those 3 appliances aren't all going to be broken so we need some more info. Like Tweety said, the fridge will not cool down quickly especially in the heat we've been having in the east. Use a thermometer and give the fridge a load to work with like ice in the freezer and a large container of cold water to see what it's doing. On my 2005 the fridge temp can be adjusted and I suspect yours will too. Sorry I don't have a pic, but look at the vertical fins at the top of the fridge compartment--at the far right there should be a vertical slider marked for hotter and colder. Don't move it too much as these fridges will actually cool very well once they get going. Also pull the fridge vent on the outside of the trailer and make sure nobody's living in there and has blocked the airflow up to the roof top vent.

On the radio and microwave--are they totally dead even without a clock display? For the microwave check that the outlet is live.

Henry

ok new info

OK so far I figured out that the fridge and freezer get cold when I switch the fridge to run on gas but when i put it back to electric it stopped being cold again. What would make it run on just gas??? I am going to test the outlets for the fridge and microwave in the morning. I also need to check the radio for power and ground I am just wondering if they are all related. The previous owner screwed this thing up good. today i put it a new floor that was rotted from water damage. The hot water heater tank is exploded (where can i get one??) and a couple fittings on the plumbing were busted. Also when i checked the fuses in the breaker box number 7 (15a) was blown. says its for hood vent over stove.

Your hot water heater is a standard unit used in many, many RV's. You can purchase replacements at most RV dealers, and, if you have the model number, there are also a number of good internet sources.

The plumbing in the '99's is standard PEX fittings for the most part, readily available at hardware and home improvement stores.

If the microwave does not have power, first check to see if it is plugged in. In my '99 the plug is in a socket in the next compartment, but yours may be slightly different. Then, check the circuit breaker. It may be off or tripped and need to be reset.

The radio is on the 12 vdc side of the system. There is a separate fuse for it in the fuse panel but there are also fuses in the wiring harness right behind the radio. You'll want to check both. Also, there may be one or more wire nuts in the radio wiring harness behind the radio. It's possible one of them is loose or missing.

If the other 12 vdc items like the lights are working, that should narrow things down pretty quickly.

FWIW, the radio in my '99 crapped out long ago. The lighted panel stopped working so I could not see what station it was tuned to. My solution was to install a standard car radio. I got one free out of a "cash for clunkers" car, but if you are an automotive tech, you've likely got sources too. Worst case (money wise) but easiest install and retro-fit is an aftermarket unit.

See this thread for my details on the swap-out: http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f6...ighlight=radio

If you are looking for a good source for a WH, check out adventurerv.net We've bought several things from them, including a WH and they are great to do business with! If your fridge will not work on electric, it could either be the heating element, or the control board. If you can find them, please list the model numbers of the WH and fridge.. Gary

Chuggin along

Thanks everybody for the tips so far. Ok update: The microwave was junk put a new one in and it works (had one laying around). Radio not working was a tube fuse behind the unit. Im replacing it with a regular car cd player anyways. The fridge still only works on gas. Im thinking element or circuit board for sure but how can I test it?? I tried to test the black wires going to the element with a volt meter thing but wasnt sure what I was looking for really. I am going to check online for the WH thanks again. Anybody know where to get awning parts cheap???

Before you do anything else, try cleaning the electronic/electrical connectors on the back of the refrigerator. They some times get fuzz on them.

Did you check to make sure that the outlet that the fridge is plugged into is hot? On the outside of the trailer take off the panel to access the rear of the fridge. Take a look there, the outlet should be about a foot or a little more off of the bottom, either on the left or right. Maybe there is a problem with the outlet.
