Roof sealant on T-2363

I just uncovered my trailer and notice that the putty on the edge of my roof is splitting in several places. Does anyone know if I should use something special to fill in these spots or is a good silcone sealant okay to use?

Dicor 501's.

It's designed to bond with the old sealant as well as the rubber roof. You would put it on with a caulk gun just like a regular tube of silicone.

Yes, use Dicor....do NOT use silicone. We were told it will eat your roof material.

Just out of curiosity, can you use Dicor on the seams of an older Sunline with a metal roof? I've seen some silicone applications that did not very attractive.

I'm not sure. I've always used a product called Dyco that comes in a can. It's made for aluminum roofs.

A heads up, do "not" use silicone on your roof. It will not stick for very long and it is not made to work right up there. Silicone has it's place, just the roof it not one of them.

If you have the rubber roof, yes the Dicor products work very well. I have used them on my rubber roofs. I have used it on aluminum siding.

See here on the Dicro site where it says it is OK for aluminum as well http://www.dicor.com/installcomp.html

http://www.dicor.com/

If you have a small split/crack you can wash it clean, then dry then apply new dicor over it.

OR if you have a deep crack, you can peel up some of the old dicor, make sure it is all clean to the bottom, then refill with fresh.

Hope this helps

John
