Found this on a new camper, might look good on the new filon.

Only thing it needs is more orange than red. size is a good fit,
Would like the original stripes.

Curious about something.. Are you replacing it because it's dirty? If it's not damaged, some awesome cleaner and a brass fine bristle brush will clean it up nicely.

That will definitely clean up. Soft Scrub works well too.

I took one from this:

to this:

Yes, the decal did require a little paint work and we did paint the filon white with Krylon Fusion plastic paint, but it did come very clean before that. After cleaning, it was still a little yellowed, which didn't look very good on an all white trailer. You don't have to worry about slight yellowing though, if you could even see if it yellowed.

Since your stripes are all individual pieces of vinyl and solid color, I imagine you could visit a graphics shop and get some colored vinyl cut for you in that pattern for pretty cheap.

If you were to get new decals, I'd go with the new filon if you could get it in the colonial white, IMO. It would be much easier to put the decals on new vs. peeling off all the old one small piece at a time and then getting the new stuff to stick.

I cleaned the rock guard on our 1985 1550 with Magic Erasers and Clorox Clean Up spray. It came out looking like new. Every couple of months I clean it again to keep the dirt from buildling up. When we got ours it was just as dirty as yours looks. I repainted the striping with spray paint after cleaning it the first time.

I used spray paint called "Dupli-Color". You can get it at auto supply stores, and the colors matched pretty well. I did not use a primer. I taped off each section with newspaper and painter's tape. Unfortunately, I had to paint over the reflective red-orange paint with regular paint, but it still looks good. On mine, the burgundy color was faded to light pink, and the reflective orange was faded to light orange and was really cracking. Only the blue looked pretty good, but needed to be repainted in some places. I repainted the logos by hand also. If you look under my profile I have album photos showing where I repainted the striping on the front, rear, and door side, also repainted the door. It is very time consuming but well worth it. I wanted to keep it original.

For the aluminum trim, I'd use some fine steel wool on it all first. Scrub it real good. Then come back with some mag aluminum polish, like a Mothers Aluminum Polish. I'd plan to wax it after that, but it should last a couple years with a decent shine before it starts to tarnish again.
