Replacement screen door latch kit ?
Is there any preference between the Phillips and JR Products replacement screen door latch kit?
One better then the other ?
....or is there any other type of fixes that we're missing all together ?
Thanks for anymore help or ideas. G&P

Actually neither one of them seem to look correct (without replacing the entire thing)
Here's a picture of ours and what's broke is the 'top ear' on the solid door catch.
???

To your original question, a difference between the Phillips and the JR, our camper has the Phillips and I had to replace one when the spring inside broke.
As far as function, both brands I could see performing the same. However the holes that mount them looks different. If the goal is not to add extra holes in your door, I would go with the one that matches what you have so the holes align.
And you are correct, your picture shows a different style all together. I myself have not seen one like that.
But it might be this one. JR Bullet screen door latch. The 2nd one down. If it is, then search for this model on line
JR Products :: Catalog
Hope this helps
John

Just as I do with anything I'm not sure of, I will take the old parts with me to buy a new one. That is what I did when our latch broke. Holes do make a difference.
As always do not tell the parts person that you have a Sunline but simply show them the old parts. Do not settle for less than what you need.

Thanks John and Jim,
I didn't give any thought to having to add a bunch more holes for a different style mounting latch.
That JR 'bullet' type latch sure looks good to me.
This one here looks like a match.

The latch you linked to shows slots where the holes are, for your broken piece. You can easily move the hole locations in the "T" shaped slots. Maybe that will let holes in the camper be reused.
I would replace all three parts of the latch and not just a broken part.
Good luck with it.

I love the bullet latches. I'd replace mine with them if I wanted to deviate from original. They hold the doors together better and seem to latch easier when you swing the screen door shut, without bouncing back.

Look for then Youtube video on screen door magnets, I plan on doing that on my doors as soon as I can find a source for the magnets.

You may find the correct size without having to make your own. Neighbor across the street had one on the door to their garage but took it off. Became more of a problem for them for some reason. Not sure about that or maybe the thing quit working right for some reason.
