Pilot

Hi there,
Can anyone help me figure out how to light the Pilot light for my stove?
I have an 83 I think, still not sure of the model. I've been meaning to send in a pic! I've got the heater pilot lit but can't find the one for the stove....
Any help?
Thanks!!!!
annie

Thumbs up Rear inside OVEN rail = Pilot

ANNie , I had a 79 , now 86, but the PILOT slot can be found INSIDE the oven door. & look about 2/3 rd's of the way back to the rear wall. The center UPPER rail where the gas holes will be noticed should have a small cutout or indent hole... This is where you locate your match , (Lighter stick) to get the PILOT going..... When the small flame is noticed , one can advance / or raise the temp on the front setting KNOB ,,, The gas will slowly increase & can hear the noise , or watch it advance rear to front of the broiler, for full flame.
After it reaches temperature the flame will die back for awhile to just the pilot, when oven calls for more heat, the flame will fire back down the center tube warming the oven,, as if you baking a cake over 30 minutes or so.
.How is the winter conditions coping for your live in rig .??

Yes every time you use the oven but until you turn off it does.
