Part Suppliers and Repair Facilities

Reading some posts I got the idea to maintain a list of suppliers and repair facilities that members have used and/or are familiar with and would recommend to other members when looking for parts and/or a facility to help in repairing and maintaining their Sunlines.

Please let me know if you have any vendors you would like added to the list and if you recommend them and/or have used them via replies to this post.

Thanks
Hutch

Note: Also check the OEM & Info Links post for links to manufacturers of components used by Sunline.

Restless Wheels for Sunline service and parts

Hutch

I have used Restless Wheels in Manassas VA with good success. They are honest and seem to know what they ae doing

They are a former Sunline Dealer and they have a great many Sunline parts they picked up at acution when Sunline closed their plant. In particular they have a number of water tanks as well as black and grey tanks.

This only applies to the newer Sunline's. The older ones ('92-~'02) used Tri-Mark locksets and keys.

Hutch,
We've used PPl (http://www.pplmotorhomes.com) for parts. We actually found our Atwood oven model and bought an extra rack for it. They were reasonable and shipped on time.

Hutch, In speaking with a dealer from Ephrata yesterday at the RV Show, he mentioned that one of his relatives supplied most of the interior wood products for Sunline (cabinet doors were mentioned), and that he may have some leftovers. Their website is as follows:

Hutch,

For a recommended dealer I'd like to submit Campers Barn in Kingston, NY. They are an ex-Sunline dealer and are being owned and run by the employees, as of 2008. One of the management team, Gary, is an ex-Sunline rep.

Anyway, they did a superb job of repairing the header on my 2006 T2499. Expensive, as you would expect at a dealer, but the quality of the job was worth it! They are committed to customer satisfaction and the service rep, Rich, bent over backward to make sure that the job was done right. I definitely recommend them and coming from me that means a lot because I tend to be very critical about work done for me.

I bought my 2006 T-1950 new at Camers Barn. In a week I found the water heater leaked. They were great people to do business with and they immediately took care of the water heater. I bought the unit after Sunline closed their doors and without me even asking, they gave me the three year warranty in writing to be carried by themselves. I guess they feel safe with a Sunline.

That's odd, we bought our 264 from Campers Barn, and they would only give us a 1 yr warranty. Maybe things have changed, but at the time I wouldn't have taken it back for any work after all the complaints I heard about their service department. When we went to make the deal, we took the 2 door explorer with a V6 and they said it would tow the trailer with no problems, but they wanted us to sign some kind of waiver. We just laughed as we walked out the door and said we would be back in 2 weeks to pick it up.

Ditto to that! We purchased our 2499 from them in April 07 and I knew more about the Sunline than the salesperson......and Gary told us that our 1950 wasn't worth what I expected to get.....we walked out the door and almost made it to the truck before they had a change of heart!!!!

They had the trailer we wanted and after we agreed on price - I was told I was "killing them" with what I was willing to pay and what I was expecting from our trade.....anyway we haven't been back to them since!!!

I hate to break up the party here, but I vote for not including any dealers as recommended unless they have actual Sunline parts in inventory (like Stoltzfus, Martin's Camper Sales in Mechanicsburg, and Butler)

There will always be differing opinions on dealers and that can be a separate thread by itself.

Thanks Pam,

I've added it to the Miscellaneous Items section of the OEM post.

Eventually, no dealer will have "actual Sunline parts"
And I'm not sure what "actual Sunline parts" means. Did Sunline make any parts after they stopped making the cabinets?
The majority of (if not all) the parts that Sunline used in their trailers where made by other OEMs.

That's why it's important to have a thread for members of the club to share their opinions.
So my vote is that this is as good a thread as any to allow club members to share their opinions of dealerships.
