Smile Our *New* 1985 Sunline T-1550!

Hi Guys,
So we bought our *New* 1985 Sunline T-1550 last Friday and we are in love! We have been haunting the forums, trying to figure out where/how to start on our renovations!

At first, we thought most of our repairs would be cosmetic (new curtains, dinette covers, etc.) .... then we hooked the fresh water hose up and turned it on!

Ooops...maybe we should have tested the "utilities" before purchasing! Water sprayed all over the bathroom due to a faulty toilet supply line and we quickly realized that we were going to have to replace the toilet floor area.

We replaced the toilet floor area and bought some peel and stick tiles from Lowes; however, they really aren't sticky enough! We considered a couple of alternatives: buying a piece of vinyl flooring (that is a lot of waste for a 20x24" space,) or using ceramic tiles (would probably flex too much.) Does anyone have any recommendations?

We are also looking at replacing our light fixtures with LED fixtures (the fixtures have a lot of nicotine staining and some cracking, I wouldn't want to reuse them.) We checked Amazon, eBay, etc, and we keep coming up with the same fixtures:

Gold Stars F3528002 LED Dome Light Fixture Double 921 Wedge 2 X 150 LUM 12v Natural White : Amazon.com : Automotive

Amazon.com: Gold Stars F3528001 LED Dome Light Fixture Single 921 Wedge 150 Lumens 12v Natural White: Automotive

I don't really care for the fixtures, they don't really FIT, but I can't find any reasonably priced alternatives (we have 4 doubles and 3 singles to replace!).

Anyway, thanks for any advice that you guys may be able to offer!

Welcome!

Wow, these 1985 T-1550's sure are popular lately. This is the second "new" one I've seen in the last couple of days.

I can't help you with the tile, but we replaced a lot of our light fixtures. They are not LED, but they were fairly cheap. I think you can find them at any
RV store, they had doubles and singles. Our old ones were crumbling and discolored.

The new ones look something like this:

Double Euro Style Interior Ceiling Light w/ Switch #RVIL22

Please post some pictures of your camper, we love pictures here!!

Jenny

Those lights are much better! Maybe I can convince my husband that LEDs aren't really necessary after all!

We haven't taken many pics yet, I think he has a few of the floor damage. I'll have to take a couple now that we have cleaned up a lot. It was sitting in someone's back yard for about 3 years and he had used it for storage, etc.

This is when we were "airing it out," I had to joke about our mobile-mobile home next to our nonmobile mobile home

Even though the tile are peal and stick I've never trusted them. I always used vinyl glue and glued them down. Seal the new wood first.

So you think we should use like a deck sealer, then the vinyl adhesive with the peel and stick tiles?

Do we just use the adhesive that they use for putting down the regular vinyl flooring?

Thanks!

Seal with something like Kilz original, it's shellac base. Then use adhesive like you would use on sheet vinyl. Lay out and cut tile ahead of time, prefit.
