You may have fell into the just missing the later 2003 Atwood upgrade of the control system. Look for the metal cover with a black rocker switch on the back of the HW heater. I'll look if I can find the members who posted pics of theirs.

EMD_Drivers and Kitty's 2003 T320SR had the older HW heater as he upgraded a remote switch.

Yea, there is a lot on the HW heater. I definitely will be checking it out when I get it out of storage next week. I'll let everyone know what I find. We know it works fine on gas, and it didn't seem to run a lot either.

Well I have the camper home, and removed the carpet yesterday. Noe I'm ready to install the new flooring in the living area. I also cheacked the HW heater, and found I do have a dual heater. The switch is on the back of the unit way back in the corner. Have to crawl into the storage unit under the bed to get to it though. There is an access hole in the plywood under the bed, but the mattress is too stiff to get to it. Have any of you relocated this switch?

I did see that, but didn't know for sure if mine had the switch or not. I'll look for the breaker switch.

I always used the circuit breaker on the converter panel but I had to reach down and open the front cover and then some idiot (ME!) would leave the door down and trip over it.

I decided to add a switch where I could reach it. The switch has a pilot light that goes ON when the switch is on, most have the pilot light on when the switch is off. I posted a bunch of pictures of this in another thread last year.

Harold,
I don't understand what is going on as you said yours is one of the first mfg in 04 yet mine has the nameplate that says mfg Jan 04 and the switch is on the wall as pictured by John earlier.
It seems electrically it would not be a big chore to have a more conveniently mounted switch installed, maybe on the end of the bed near the gas detector.
John from NH but in La.

Yours was actually built almost smack in the middle of the model year. The 2004 model year started in early May of 2003, and lasted until early May of 2004. All Sunline model years followed this system, give or take a couple weeks here and there, and many other manufacturers do the same thing.

Gene, I'll try and find that thread. Think I'll put it at the end of the bed as John said.
John, I don't know what to say, but according to Sunline Fan and my paperwork, mine was manufactured April of '03. No wall mounted switch. Maybe they ran out ...........

Harold,
Hope it works out with the new switch. I just took a picture of my document to send to Sunline Fan.
Now I am wondering how many T-1950's are out there. Making the corner bed is the only thing we don't love about ours.
John

John, I know what you mean about the bed. It's comfortable though, and beats folding up a dinette to sleep. That is what attracted this one to us, plus the shower and the size. Didn't find many TT's that size when we were looking.
I just removed the carpet in ours and am putting down laminate flooring. I'll post some pics. Should be done later today. Need to plug in a heater though. It's just 30 here right now. Didn't fire up the furnace yet.

Harold,
Sorry I was a bit lazy when I posted that, here is a link to the thread with more pictures. I know your layout is different but it may spark and idea for you.

Gene,
Thanks for the info. My breaker door is a little different than yours as it opens like a door and doesn't lay on the floor. I can see why you could forget about it and trip.

lite between the rocker switches

On post #13, JohnB posted a picture of a 3 rocker switch/tank panel which is the one I have in my 1950. This morning, the little red light between the elec and propane switches came on. On closer scrutiny, I saw the letters DSI and FLT as shown in Johns picture. I have never noticed this before and don't have a clue what it is telling me. Would someone please educate me?

Thanks,
John

That light indicates that the water heater failed to ignite on propane. It's a safety that after several attempts to ignite, it will stop trying and that light will come on. Make sure that you have propane, turn off the switch, and then turn it back on, it will attempt to light again....if the light comes back on further investigation is needed.

Mack

Thanks Mac. Cannot figure out why it would come on though as I have not used propane for water heater in a month. Will have to try to fire it up and see if it works ok. By the way, what do the letters stand for?
