New to the forum and need some help already !!.........
I've been working on a 1976 Sunline 15' SC and am having no luck finding a replacement thermocouple for the Hydro-Flame furnace Model # HF-7312. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help will be greatly appreciated........Best regards,"DOC"

I tried looking a bunch of places but can't even find a listing for 7312. Is there any chance it is a 7912?

Thanks,Gene.........
the numbers are very legible on the tag, and the optional blower for it would be part # 7312F. The defective part # is C-76 by Jade Controls. that is on a green paper tag on the tubing. There is also a # T2C/N stamped into the brass on the end nearest the pilot light flame. The lady I spoke with at Atwood/Hydro-Flame couldn't do anything with those numbers. Said the unit was too old, and to replace the furnace. Not gonna do it. Got to be some of the parts laying around somebodies warehouse. Best Regards,"DOC"

Dang! I was hoping I would come across something that would say "replace with xxxx". I did find Hydro-Flame HF-7312 with a Google search but it was a post on this forum and one other place but no lead for parts.

Thanks for the continued help,Gene ! I'm having about the same luck. I did find a "universal" thermocouple ,but am holding out for a exact match a bit longer. I'm gonna try and search some more today. Maybe something will turn up. Best Regards,"DOC"

google this:
Thermocouple
Item # DVJD-1618
these items are fairly generic...I bet it works. I replaced the thermocouple in a 1970 furnace from one I got at a servicestar and it has not blown up or anything untoward....

Well here is the entire furnace for $59 on Ebay. A used one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HYDRO...ts_Accessories
I tried to find any route to parts on the HF 7312 and came up dry. Even was looking for a service manual too but can't seem to go back that old.
Good luck
John

Thats exactly what I need ! Too bad the auction is already closed. That one had the 12V blower option too !!! Maybe another one will turn up. My next step will be to disassemble the furnace and see if there are reasons why the pilot wont stay lit even with a functional thermocouple ! Thanks for all your help...Best Regards..."DOC"

Doc,
You may want to give an RV Salvage place a call:
Arizona R.V. Salvage Inc - Used RV Parts, Refurbished RV Appliances, Generators and Motorhome, Travel Trailer, and 5th Wheel Lot
That's one of many out there. You could also try just your local junkyard since now you know the Apaches used the same furnace, maybe you'd get lucky and find one there.

Hey everyone ! Thanks for all your help and suggestions ! Great bunch of folks here. After all the searching, I happened to go down to Thomace Terrace Market to get a Coca Cola and noticed they had gas powered fry tanks, etc. I asked David the owner if his machines used thermocouples for the pilot lights and the answer was yes ! I explained to him what I was doing and we headed for his storeroom/repair shop. He had several thermocouples of varying types in stock, and we picked the one closest in length and appearance to mine, and I headed out to try it.(after getting my Coca Cola...LOL) The new part was only a couple inches longer than the original and I carefully bent it to fit my space and tightened it into service. Went out and turned the gas on, checked my connections for leaks with soapy water and turned the knob to "PILOT". Pushed the knob in and held it till gas got back thru the line to it. When the pilot ignited I continued to hold the knob in for a few seconds and released it. THE PILOT STAYED LIT !!! Turned the knob from "PILOT" to "ON" and in about a second, it ignited the main burner. It works like a champ, now. Just for maintainence, and because I had read about others doing it, I removed the burner assembly and cleaned everything, and re-assembled it. It really puts out the heat !!! Thanks again for all your support, guys and gals !...Best Regards..."DOC"

That is great to hear DOC. Is he now going to hang up a sign "RV Parts Store"?

He sure ought to, at least for gas furnace parts ! He didn't even charge me for the thermocouple, when I tried to find out what I owed ! What a friend. I will be watching for an opportunity to help him out.

Doc, GREAT!!! Good for you. And good to take the furnace apart and check it that nothing is blocked being that old.
Thanks for reporting back.
