Need a part for my awning...don't know what it's called.

My 2007 Sunline model 2499 has a Dometic/A&E awning. I broke a small plastic part today while retracting it. I tried to search Dometic/A&E awning suppliers for this part but no success because I can't seem to call it a searchable name thus far. SO...let me describe it and then let you all try your luck on naming it. Sorry but no picture.

When the awning is up and you want to put it down there is a gray plastic item that allows the sliding tension rod to release up near the roller assembly on each side of the awning. You just press it and it free's up the tension rod to slide back down in preperation to roll up the awning. Ok getting too wordy now..time for one of you to get me straightened out. I need one of these things!

Thanks

Bob

Bob,

I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't know the exact name of it. Regardless, it's a latch. I just sold a guy one the other day because his new coach didn't come with the spring. The kit is only available with two complete replacement latches, so you just can't get whatever part broke.

I'll do some searching around for the official name.

Jon

Here is is:

It's called a "slider catch" and it's roughly $17 for the pair from Mark's RV (found through Google)

Yes Jon...that sure does look like my part. Probably a generic Dometic item. Since mine was so breakable having a spare will be worthwhile. I appreciate your taking the time to enlighten me on this.

Thanks!
