In the house garage I found a stash this past weekend.

I have been using the spring type mouse traps for many many years in the shed, barn & house garage.
So this spring I tried one box of DECON in the shed. In two or three days ALL the bait was gone.I never found any dead mice. I never about them hoarding it.....
I will have to look for it one day.
The problem I have with the DECON is:
#1... I'm worried about the neighbors cats getting sick or ?
#2... I'm afraid that the mice may die in between a wall or some other hidden place and then smell really bad.........

Well, I "guess" dead ones can only smell for so long I have a VERY sneaky mouse in the house by the kitchen counter, "HE" has even escaped the sticky board, got the peanut butter off the trusty trap, SO I just might have to make a trip to my friendly "Lowes" for some Decon. The war is on, the mouse goes or I go !!!!!!

Kitty,
Have you tried Sunflower seeds in the spring traps ?
The Victor with yellow plastic...just push the seeds up from the bottom in the holes in the plastic, make sure they are squeezed Tight in the hole or holes.
The Victor with the metal bait pedal....put 2 seeds in the bait pedal (point to point) and squeeze the metal to squash them with a small pliers.
Works all the time, they can't steal the seeds..... .
I stopped using peanutbutter or cheese many many years ago for that reason.

For some reason I never doubted that the mouse would lose.

Neither did I, but I thought I might be able to rent out two "tom cats" that work real well together, and enjoy a challenge!!!
Mack
HUM, 2 Tom Cats, with our two (2) greyhounds, (yes we now have a 2nd one), I would have been better off keeping the mouse. Dogs chasing cats and cats trying to escape from the dogs, geesh, just what I don't need. Plus I have a short rodent catcher, Harley drives himself nuts trying to get at them. He will stand guard for hours waiting his chance.

Bounce dryer sheets? What a great idea, and the camper smells clean the spring!

Kitty:
My money is on the cats!!! Our smallest female kitty, Mittens, cowers our 100lb English Bulldog!! We had to replace a screen door because the bullie ran out the door with cat in pursuit and mdfiregal closed the door between them, Mittens just ran right through the bottom panel!!!

OH, I don't need two cats in the house. 2 greyhounds and Harley are more than enough to deal with. Harley is into EVERYTHING, I really believe he is part Jack Russell terrier, ornery little sheet
Hey, anyone want a very cute black dapple weiner dog, housebroken, uses a doggie door, loves to snuggle, he's a real velcro dog, will help keep you warm in winter.

I know this is a old post but, what the hey!
I lost a generator and a lawnmower magneto to bushey tailed rodents, squirells. Also had rats in our last motorhome. I finally got this under control with D-Con, large mouse traps and cage traps.
To set D-Con at ground level without danger to our furkid, the Yorkie. I placed the poison behind wire closet shelves our neighbors had thrown out.
I also place larger rat traps high on yard furniture so only pests get trapped.
I also use wire cages for larger pests. Again placing them high or behind metal shelves so pets do not enter. Ever see how big a hole a cat can make in the bottom of a trailer? They love nesting in insulation.
