Maximum Battery Size

I'm looking at replacing the stock Group 24 battery on my 2499 with with a battery (or batteries) with more capacity. My problem is I don't have access to my unit so I don't know the maximum battery size (in a battery case) I can fit on the battery tray. The fit is pretty tight width-wise, so there's not much room for a wider battery, but as far as length goes, can I fit two Group 27s?.

Any help is appreciated.
Don

dkasten39828 is an unknown quantity at this point
Don, the front rail of the battery area is about 24 inches side to side on my 2499. The single battery box I have in there is a little more than 12 inches wide. It's all the way to the street side of the tray area.

But you know... I've never taken the battery out of that box since we bought the coach last September, so I do not know if it's a Group 24 or a 27.

I'm hoping to put a pair of T-105 6-volt batteries up there on ours once the existing battery quits. I wonder if they'll fit?

Wish I could help more...

I'll measure my 2004 T2499 for you on Tuesday. I do know that mine has group 24 batteries and they about fall thru the small angle iron rails. Not literally but it's close. I had to add a board to span the gap better.

Here you can see the gray board under the battery and the extra room on the side of the case

Now will a grp 27 fit? Well "maybe" have to check. I just put 2 group 27's on the T310SR this year I can measure those boxes to see if they will fit.

Mr Tweety just put 2 group 29s on his 2006 camper with the new frame style but I do not know what he did with the battery rack. My T310SR the batteries are turned 90 degrees and I had to fiddle with the mount to go from 24's to 27's.

Be back on Tuesday

John
