Question Leaky Shower Fixture

Hello,

I just noticed a pretty good leak coming one of the faucets and the hose on the shower faucet fixture

I replaced the shower hose about two weeks ago and used the thin white plumber tape when replacing the old with new.

I also took off the clear faucet handles to give them a good cleaning, about the same time.

No problems until today. I did turn off water Friday afternoon until Sat. afternoon and was using my pump. They were doing some water main work in the area near my camp so we were told to turn off water

I turned off the water as its a fairly good leak and I was concerned it may be behind the shower :-O

It may well be that the whole fixture needs to be replaced as my 1950 is a 2005 so that is 10 years old now

There is an access door on the common wall of the bathroom and bedroom.

Would appreciate some feedback before I called the mobile repair man $$$$

Thanks!

I MAY have solved the problem nit sure. I went outside and turned on the water but not as high as so far no leaking from faucet or shower as before when the water was just one. So time will tell......

Well time did tell....So I decided I should be grateful it lasted 10 years!

I am replacing the cheapo plastic with this brass shower fixture Phoenix 412VI Faucets
Amazon.com: Phoenix 412VI Faucets: Automotive

And while I was at it decided to order a shut off valve

MODONA Flow Contol and Shut OFF Valve, Made of BRASS

MODONA Flow Contol and Shut OFF Valve, Made of BRASS - - Amazon.com

Good for those Navy showers when you are trying to conserve water and temps stays the same when turned back on

The installation seems simple enough so I plan to DIY

Joan,

Let us know if that shower shutoff does 100% water shut off or it trickles still. I am trying to get ride of the trickle one we have.

Thanks for posting the brass faucet links.
