Interior leak from the aluminum siding

Hey all! So I have been putting my camper bathroom back together and today as I was about to put the last few panels up I noticed a leak (raining all day today)....now I have water tested my roof vents and the camper has been through many heavy rainstorms yet this is the first time I have seen it leak like this...it seems that the water is coming in from between the aluminum siding panels - has anyone encountered this before??? I did a search for it in the forums here but didn't find anything.....

Hi Kris,

I do not know the older campers but the newer ones are pretty bullet proof on siding interlock leaks. The leaks generally come from any hole in the siding. Window, clearance light, etc.

However that is not to say that something shifted and the interlocking siding is not overlapping well.

What else is in the area you are seeing the leak, any chance of some pics so we can see what you are up against? The leak may be a ways down/up the line and wicking down the siding.

John

Hi John,
I'll try and get some pics tomorrow....I checked the outside and there doesn't seem to be any holes in the siding. Like I said, I've soaked that whole back corner numerous times to check for leaks. The damage starts just above the middle of the wall in the back corner of the bathroom - the only reason I know its coming from the siding is because I actually saw it running down the wall. I checked around the marker light and that is dry - at this point I don't know if the water is coming from one spot and just collecting in the interior siding grooves and spilling over or if its multiple leaks...

Hello!
I know it's been awhile since I posted about this but it's been a crazy busy summer for me! A little update on the leak situation....I soaked that thing a million times and never once could I duplicate the leak yet as soon as we got a steady rain it would leak...after much frustration I decided to just take apart that whole back corner. when I took off the corner trim it looked like one of the upper screws was my issue so after I put it all back together I haven't seen a leak since! (and that's with just about every time we went out this year it rained on us)
