Help! Toilet is leaking

We've been using the toilet on our new-to-us Sunline for three days. I emptied the black water tank today. When holding the pedal down to add water to the tank to prep it for further use, I noticed that water was pooling on the floor. It appears to be coming from the hose above the hose clamp. It does not appear to be coming out of the junction between the fresh water hose and the toilet end. Unless it's squirting up then coming back down. It's hard to get the head back there.

Thoughts / comments?

Hard to tell from the one pic. but if I have it oriented right that pic is of the vacuum breaker device on the top back of the china bowl. Is that correct?

A few more pic of the area up top can help. On ours 2004 models, there is a plastic cover over the top of that vacuum breaker. It is in the top back center of the bowl. Would be behind the toilet seat. If yours has one, take the cover off and have a look there.

See here for pics of mine.

The vacuum breaker is under the white plastic cover behind the seat. The little green Sealand sticker is on the cover.

Looks like this with the cover off

And from down below looking up

There should be a toilet model number sticker somewhere on the bowl. If it is still there. See ours

Let us know what your model is so we can look up the part diagram. Your manual should have one too. I know they changed somewhere in the 2005/2006 year as the sprayer was no longer offered.

Hope this helps

John

I took the cover off top/back of the toilet. The water is making a fountain as soon as I depress the flush pedal. Here are pics of the model number and top/back where the water is coming out.

Hmmm...what next?

I would have to say without seeing that you are looking at a new valve.

If water is squirting up out of the top of the vacuum breaker in this pic, it needs to be replaced. It may have cracked.

It appears the vacuum breaker may have been upgraded since yours was made as the new one looks slightly different. Look in your Sunline manual for the Sealand 210 toilet manual. It may have a parts breakdown to it. They make 2 different vacuum breakers for the 210, one with a hose sprayer and one without. My 2004 model 110 toilet has the sprayer but I recall Sunline stopped putting that feature in. I do not know it was the 2005 models or 2006. I cannot tell from your pics if yours has the sprayer (looks like a kitchen sink sprayer)

This is the trail on the parts I could find.

The 210 manual but no parts diagram

A parts breakdown showing the 2 vacuum breaker numbers
Laurelhurst Distributors Parts Breakdown - SeaLand Traveler Lite Series - 210

Dometic instructions and good pics of the new vacuum breaker. In the instructions it calls out it fits the 210 model.

The vacuum breaker on Amazon "without" the sprayer

And a U tube on how to change it...

See if you can confirm the part number from your manual.

Hope this helps

John

I picked up a new vacuum breaker at Stoltzfus RV yesterday. Installed it today. All is well. Success! We can flush without mopping now...

Here's the video I used to learn the steps. The Dometic replacement part came with an excellent instruction page too.

Great!!!

Yeh flying water in the bathroom is not a good thing....We had a very "wet" experience once too. The shut off valve on the tank flush wand blew out ....water everywhere.... lesson learned, "never" trust a plastic water hose wand shut off valve. All metal only if that garden hose enters the camper....

Now you can start collecting your "never to forget" camper memories....

Glad it is all fixed up and thanks for reporting back. The vacuum breaker is often the cause.
