haunting feeling....

Hi All,
The radio in my Sunline will just turn itself on and start playing. For example, it is not surprising to all of a sudden hear the radio playing inside the camper while we are outside doing something.
[To be honest, I never use the radio at all.]

Anyone ever seen this, or know how to fix it? I assume something is starting to go in a switch or something, but it is kind of annoying....

Thanks,

YUP....check the alarm clock settings.......or if you are using a remote control for anything that can also trigger it to go on!

If your alarm is not on then look at the radio very closely....you will see a round dot (I believe it is in the lower right corner) we had to cover it with a piece of black electrical tape.....as every time the g/s would put on the TV the radio would also come on!!!!

Welcome to the forum jbaker.

I have heard that happen several times. Kathy (Poppy & Nana) hit the nail on the head with her answer.

Yup, and if all else fails, I think there's a fuse in the power distribution center that you could pull, or just unscrew the radio from the wall and unplug it in the back. Reinstall it and then someone could plug it back in and use it down the line.

Here is the magical dot folks are talking about. JB I think yours is a 2003 so odds are high this is the same radio as my 2004

On mine I had to put aluminum foil over the dot then the electrical tape.... We would flip the remote to change channels and the radio comes on full blast no less....

If you take the 4 screws out on the back of the radio is a fuse. I use to pull the fuse but now switched to the cable. And there is a big cable plug with a bunch of wires. I unclick the plug with the wires so I do not loose the fuse as I boondock and do not want the radio sucking battery power. But I use it at times when working in the camper and plug it back in. I will some day put a switch on the thing.
