Grey or Blackwater tank leak.

After working on the camper to get ready to camp soon I found a leak where the pipe comes out of the tank that the sinks drain to. The camper is a 1981. Is the tank ABS? What should I use to fix it?

Randy

If the tank is black, odds are high it is ABS like most all of the other Sunlines.

See these threads on ABS tank repair. While some of them may be the black tank leaking, the gray tank is made the same way and the fittings are from the same material too.

And if you need more, try this Google Custom Search our Admin made for our site. It works much better then the embedded search tool on the forum.

https://cse.google.com/cse/home?cx=0...95:95x3m3w6lto

Scroll down to the "Google Custom Search" box below the main one. Put in "ABS repair" and hit go. It will find all threads with those words and much more.

Hope this helps and good luck. Let us know how you make out so we can add your repair to the list

John

Thanks for the help!! I have been so busy with work and and everything else in life I have not had a chance to do much with it. Now I am almost out of time and gonna try for a temporary quick fix to get me throght the weekend and then make a permanent repair next week. The leak is where the drain pipe comes out of the grey water tank. It is cracked almost all the way around the pipe.

So far no leaks on the grey water tank. We have been camping for 2 full days and been using the sinks a lot. I will look into a permanent fix later.
