Great Awning Cleaner

I don't recall this being mentioned before, so here goes:

A friend mentioned to me and it really works!
Gather the following supplies:
- Wash Bucket
- Wash Brush
- Water Hose
- Warm Water supply
- Lemon Joy dish soap (MUST BE LEMON SCENT)
- Bleach

Mix the following in a bucket:

- WARM WATER
- LEMON JOY DISH SOAP

Mix those two items in some sort of wash bucket. Make sure to use A LOT of soap, and I mean a lot (I used half the bottle).

Take the bucket of soapy water near your awning (Must be outdoors) and mix a lot of bleach in with the mixture. Sorry I don't have exact measurements, but make sure to use a lot. The reason the mixture needs to be outside is because the Joy bottle says do not mix with bleach, so there might be some sort of gas reaction and it shouldn't be done indoors.

The mixture should be very concentrated and almost paste-like. Take the wash brush and scrub down your awning really good with the mixture. If your awning is really dirty, scrub the whole thing, hose it down, and re-apply. Make sure you put a lot of the mixture on there. I had like a liquidy paste running down the awning canvas. Once you get down the whole awning applying the mixture, go back to the beginning and re-apply again if the first stuff dried. You only need to coat the top side, flap, and maybe one brush width on the underside at the awning tube.

Then, roll up the awning completely against the trailer. Let set for 15 minutes. I used a kitchen timer because I went off and did other things during the 15 mins.

When the 15 mins is up, roll out the awning and hose off. Re-scrub the awning if necessary before a final hose down. Make sure you get all the bleach off.

Fully set up the awning and let completely air dry. You will be amazed at the results! I have to say, it made my abused awning canvas look almost like new.
