fresh water tank motor instruction request

hi sunliners,

i'm testing out the fresh water tank (20gal) and i'm looking for a step by step of how to use the motor with it. seems simple, but i like to know what to do beforehand just in case. also, is it supposed to make a noise while pumping or generally quiet?

i have flipped on the motor switch for a second and it goes on fine and is fairly noisy. but i haven't tested it with water. i have an on/off switch by the kitchen sink.

thanks in advance!

Your water pump is kinda noisy. There are ways to quiet it down, but it takes some engineering to lengthen the water lines and mount the pump on a softer surface.

It's not a good idea to run the pump for more than a couple seconds when dry or else you could damage it internally.

When you turn the pump on, it'll run until the system is pressurized. It shouldn't come back on again unless you open a faucet- but if you do, then you know you have a leak somewhere. As you open a faucet and pressure drops, the pump will kick on again.

Sunline fan has you covered but I'll mention one thing. I removed the screws fastening the pump to the floor in my T-1950 and put quarter inch thick rubber grommets under the pump on the screw shafts as I replaced them. (a piece of carpet might work) It made a big improvement in noise. About the only other alternative for noise is to replace it with a newer pump that barely makes any noise at all......or ignore it.

A computer mouse pad would probably work as well.
