fastening new septic tank to underbelly

Hi I have to replace the septic tank on our 1990 T170. The new tank will be 1.5" narrower than the old one. there approx 12 rectangular steel brackets that were screwed into the trailer to clamp the tank in place. does anyone know if they were/are just screwed into the floor? or, would there possibly have been extra reinf cross rails placed in that area for tank securement? any ideas?

Well that's 3/4" per side the clips are pretty big. I can't say for fact but I would say are screwed into the stringers all the way across. I had to replace some stringers in my T1700 and they were screwed to at least the ones I had to replace.

Yes, those metal plate brackets with 2 screws are attached to the floor joists. I reattached mine recently and can vouch for it. The stringers are 1 1/2" wide so a slight angle in with the screws will help from missing or splitting the edge.
