Electric Water Heater element

I purchased my replacement wh element today, 25 bux. But, here is what I wanted to let everyone know. There is a bright pink tag on it "WARNING, DO NOT TURN ON THE ELECTRICAL CURRENT TO WH UNLESS TANK HAS WATER IN IT"

ELEMENT CAN/WILL BURNOUT IN ONE MINUTE OR LESS !!!!

SO to avoid a lot of extra work and save some money, make sure you have water in your heater

You should attach that tag above the water heater switch as a constant reminder. Of course the frustation of replacing the element will probably be sufficient everytime you look at that switch.

Hey Mike,

I plan to make a laminated tag to velcro right about the switch when in bypass mod. and YES, I do need to do that , I'm a blonde , and even this repair will end up slipping my mind.

I am now, while I have things tore apart, going to seek a better way to attach the sofa, but I think I will also try to raise it about 2 inches, it sits kinda low. And I will also be creating some type of "easy" access to the water heater.

Gosh, I need to stop thinking of things to do, maybe I have too many power tools? OH well, keeps my mind occupied.
