Question Dometic 8500 Awning Lift Handle

On our last outing I discovered one of the awning lift handles would not retract to allow us to raise the awning. We improvised and were able to raise and lower it. I noticed the part is riveted in, and was looking to find anyone who may have replaced one to see how difficult a job this is?

It's a very simple job. Just go to your local RV supply store or trailer dealer and purchase a replacement one. Comes with directions, 10-15 min job.

Not difficult..you might have to drill a new hole for the new rivets which are included with the new handle,as I remember. I just had one replaced a couple of months ago. They are sold separately (and are about $25 each) I believe I got mine from adventure rv thru ebay. I couldnt get one from our local rv dealer..said they were obsolete..not true..just not their product!
