Does anything in these pics look like a bypass?

I have a Sunline 1700. I have no idea if the prior owner even winterized the camper. Does anything in these pictures look like a bypass for the water heater? We are about to goof around with the water system because we need to flush out the camper. It looks like there is a switch under the kitchen sink behind a little door for draining the water tank after we fill it to help us flush the water tank out. Is that correct? After I flush out the water system I need to flush out the water heater. I took a picture of a water valve that looks like it has a dried up water trail leading from it. Is that the drain for the water heater? If so, do I attach a hose to that when I drain it????

Just so I have this straight....the first thing I do is drain all the water tanks and the water heater. Then I fill the water tank up, turn on all the taps and flush out the pipes. Fill the water heater and drain. Empty all the water tanks. Bypass the water heater (is that correct? I wouldn't put bleach in the water heater...right??) Put a bleach and water solution in the water tank. Turn the taps on until I smell bleach, turn the taps off and allow to sit in the water lines overnight. The next day drain and use that mixture of baking soda and water to get rid of the bleach smell. Allow THAT mix to sit in the pipes overnight. etc.

Thank you for any and all assistance.

Anita

We did "blow it out." The guy sold us the camper with the black tank full. When we went to the campground to empty it the super super nice camp host helped us out. In addition, he told us to blow out the vent for the water heater with compressed air.

Ohhhh...I saw that but it was under the sink in a cabinet and according to some other posts, I thought it was a switch for draining the water tank. Oh man...now I am even more lost.

I found some more information on the camper but didn't find anything about a bypass.

You know, once I figure everything out I am going to get some zip tie labels and label everything. If the first guy had done that I wouldn't be having this problem right now.

Thanks for the info. Jim.

I put diagrams in my manuals and take plenty of notes on many topics. When I traded the Sunline, the manual, notes and all went with it. I started over with the new camper. On panels out of sight and near the water systems and water heater I drew diagrams with a Sharpie of valve positions for all situations. In my Sunline, I drew right on the floor under the bed. Even doing this, I missed one valve on the by pass and didn't have hot water on the first trip this year in the new unit. At a second look, I solved the problem.

I've also done that with my manual . It's crazy how you for get some of the simplest things. I also put new a file envelope in manual to put all new purchase and receipts into for quick reference.

The bypass valves on the back of tank help in winterizing. By bypassing your not filling your hot water tank with 6 gal. of antifreeze. You remove drain plug thats behind gas line and valve to drain. you can also buy a small flushing wand that you can attach to hose and stick into drain hole to flush out water tank.

Jim & Paul, we also marked the floor and diagrams in the manual....boy great minds think alike!

We also had MORE info in our manual than was given to us. Everytime I had to look something up - I downloaded it and placed it in the appropriate section in the manual.

I'm just hoping whoever purchased our Sunline from the dealer, understood all the irrevelant "stuff"!

We had probelms with our couch slipcover and had a new one made, never did get to put it on - I hope they found it in the cabinet under the frig!
