CS6000xl converter

Just noticed that fans on converter are not running when plugged into shore power. Is that normal? Waiting to see if battery charges as I don't have a tester handy.

You don't switch. They are parallel systems. The only things that are 110 volt are the recepticles, and if you have them, the microwave, refrigerator, hot water heater. Everything else is 12 volt. Your convertor produces 12v when plugged into 110v that runs the lights etc, and recharges the battery.

If you have no 12v when you unplug from shoreline, check for a battery disconnect switch near the battery. Just for clarification, hot water heater and refridgerator also will run on propane for camping without shore power.

As FYI, Sunline did not start putting a battery disconnect on as standard until the 2004 model year.

Others have upgraded and added one on the pre 2004 units. Pending what you prior owner may have done, you may or may not have a battery disconnect as they would just unhook the negative cable when stored after camping to not have the battery go dead between trips.

And yes, most times they are mounted out by the battery. Easy place to put one.

Good luck

John
