Carbon Fiber Wrap for Front Window Cover

My front window cover on my 2002 started to mold at the fiber level. I got the green out this weekend, but there is no nice finish on the front cover any more. I was thinking of poly-urethane-ing the cleaned surface and after letting it dry, doing a white carbon fiber wrap. It might make the cover a little less transparent and a little darker in the RV during the day, but I am not concerned about that.

Has anyone ever tried doing a carbon fiber wrap on the front window cover or entrance door?

I flipped the fiberglass around so the bad side now faces the window.
Whatever you do it's not difficult to remove and work with it off trailer.

Great idea! I will take a look at the backside and see what condition it is in. That could be a great quick fix!

Ideas for the side door that has similar issues?

Hi John,

What brand/type of paint did you use and how is it holding up? I have a similar problem.

Thanks

John

Carbon Fiber Wrap for Front Window Cover

It’s Sherwin Williams exterior Duration Satin Super White.

I actually brushed the door and was surprised at how well it turned out. Was afraid brush strokes would show badly, but due to the texture on the door it’s not even noticeable.

It’s still looking good. Been about a year since I painted it.

Btw, Sherwin Williams has two whites. Super White has a slight gray hue when dry, while Extra White is a brighter white.

I've been very pleased with spraying Krylon Fusion in gloss white. Color matches nicely with the rest of the trailer:

Nice paint on the door! I am going to go out and find the paint you mention. I can't wait to finish the facelift. I should have taken before and after pictures, especially when it was still dirty. Too late now.
