Brakes- only two connected.

On my 2004 26' Solaris TT, I recently noticed that the brakes are connected to only one side. This appears to be how the unit was originally built. Has anyone noticed the same situation or have an explanation for it?

Look carefully...

The wires at the last wire connection near the driver's side brake hub actually separate into driver's and passenger's side wire pairs. The driver's side wires are the ones that you see going to the driver's side brake hub. The other pair on each axle goes into the axle and crosses the trailer to the passenger side right behind the hub where is comes back out of the axles and feeds those brakes. Each axle is separately wired in exactly the same manner.

In other words, you don't see the wires going to one side of the trailer because they're safely inside the tubular axle.

Have you tested all four brakes to see if they are working properly? I'll bet you find that you have equal power and braking on each side of the trailer.

Thanks Steve. Yes I found where wires go into the axle. Actually, ther eare so many wires broken, that none of my brakes are working. But at least now, I know what to do.
