Black water tank help!!!

I was having trouble getting it open to drain, now the handle is no longer attached. I was able to "screw" it back in and got the valve to open enough to drain a little but not close . Camper will be at the site until end of August. It seems to be stuck or jammed. Any advice on how to get it working enough to get thru the rest of month??!! Any help appreciated!

I recently purchased a Valterra Twiston valve...it will solve your problem..just attach it to your existing termination pipe and forget the other part! Less than $20 too....

Often the rubber seals on the valve can "stick" to the sliding blade and can be loosened with Silicone spray. About once a year I spray mine with Silicone spray as a preventive measure. Of course you don't want to disconnect the sewer hose to do that unless the tank is empty.

I second the silicone spray on the slider valve. Heads up, do not use a petroleum based lube, Liquid Wrench, 3 in one oil etc. They can make the rubber seals swell and make the issue worse. The liquid silicone will not swell up the rubber
