Atwood water heater

What is the best way to get to the rear of the water heater in a T2075?
Then how do you get the heating element out? The junction box cover appears to be almost impossible to open.

What model year camper is this?

While this is not your T2075, it is how the elecrtic elmetn woud come out on a 2004 Attwood.

See the black box on the bottom of the heater

Here is inside it. You unhook the wires and unscrew it out of there. It is about 6 to 8" long. Hopefully photo bucket will show this. It did not want to view for some reason. Tonight I will get the orginal and redo it. Never had this happen before.

The thumbnail works as shown here, but the pic to show???

If you are having a hard time to get to the junction box, getting the probe out may even be more of a challange.

Worst case, you can pull the heater out of the side of the camper to gain access. I know a lot of work, but it may be the last resort. I do not know your floor plan.

Hope this helps

John

Your picture is a great help. I thought that was going to have to remove the black junction box to get to the element. But I see that the element comes out through the junction box. Many thanks.

You can get to the back of the water heater by opening up the rear storage compartment on the side of the camper, and take out the plywood panel on the left. I think there are only 3 or 4 screws holding it in.

Thanks for the reply. My panel awash stapled. I think I will use screws to replace it.
